  1. Like the 300ZX was 4 year old when the Mk4 supra came along. And the Z31 was 2 years old when the MK3 Supra came along. Supercars are known for using technical new ideas when the come out which the filter to other cars in the market. Remember the 300ZX had New Processes used to allow a sleek bonnet without Pop up lights, this filtered down to the lesser cars a few yar later like the lamoborghini Diablo. Its had the HICAS 4WS System, Sophisticated Multi Link Suspension, Novel Twin Orifice Power Steering System, Direct Ignition. I agree its really a GT, but its not even comparable to the MK3 Supra.
  2. ohh right ill try that tommorrow, i connected it to the same bit i connected the wire to the guage to LOL. I would do it now but its snowing and im a wuss in the cold lol.
  3. Ok the guage came with a sensor, it sits at 0 when switched off, when enhine switched on it goes upto 150 the back to 70 where it stays. Its had 4 wires out of the back, Yellow (Battery) Red (Ignition) Blue (Sensor) Black (Earth). The Red, Black and Yellow wires were conncted to the ones out of the back of the stereo as they were the same colour and labeled for the same things. The blue one was to short to reach the engine bay so i connected another piece of wire to it to allow it to reach. The sensor is in a Greddy adaptor. I could not fone the screws to fit the wire to the sensor. so i wrapped the were round the thread and secured wit a nut (looks the same as is should have been). The guage is labeled Timex but i got it from the states and i think they ave now been rebadged Autometer or something. looks like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/7-Color-Glow-Phantom-52MM-Oil-Temperature-Gauge-Temp_W0QQitemZ8024689308QQcategoryZ72215QQtcZphotoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. connected an earth from the sender to the car body and the guage read 150 (which is max)
  5. cheers greg ill have a look.
  6. Air leaks are also a problem for diesels, will cause excessive smoke and very tough starting. I know some old ones have a fuel primer hand aperated bulb thing, which you need to pump with yur hands if theres and air leak, thus system loosing pressure. Not sure if new engines do but my Peugeaot/Citroen diesel engine does.
  7. Ive installed a new water temp guage and it seems not to be working right. It shows 70 degrees C no matter if the engine is stone cold, warm or if the wire isnt even connected to the sensor. Any idea's?
  8. a good job history and some qualifications :)
  9. thats horrific.
  10. i would have put your DOB in the 1960's not 1660's lol
  11. Well another year draws to an end and its the festive season, id like to take this oppertunity to thank the following people who have helped save my car from the scrapper over the course of the year. Shunter, for lots of emergency help fixing dodgy injectors and talking me out of selling my car several times, fitting a gbox in his back garden and lots of other stuff Greg and Baggins, for finally sorting me out with a non chocolate gbox which was my major bugbear with the car. With greg also taking time out on a sat to help try and fix a blown rad. Yami, for sorting my brakes, tyres and hopefully sorting out my HICAS in the new year. White Zed for the offer to paint my bumper PJinhouse for sorting my boost leaks and floppy gearstick lol And all the SW members for some very enjoyable meets :) Meery xmas Marcus

  22. check the torgue levels on the golf they do go some once moving. had one keep with my zx for a few meters.
  23. Completly agree with it, BUT what is just annoying is brits abroad who also think they can do what others do here and it ok. If i go on holiday abroad, i stick to their culture, i eat there food, i try and learn their language and i abide by their beliefs. I know im only on holiday but im in their country. If im gonna sit here and have a go at people that come here and moan then i try and not do it myself.
  24. yep blue flame/mongoose are great exhausts, though i think they the may be a bit too quiet.
