Went on holiday last week and decided to disconnect the battery whilst i was away. Came back and went for a spin, then when sat in traffic out of the corner of my eye i saw smoke in my side mirror. Though ahhhh cars on fire so pulled in and jumped out to see. Smoke (White i think and very smelly) was coming out of my passenger side exhaust. Now when i picked up the car 6 weeks ago the oil level was twice what it should be and it smoked a bit for the first week from the drivers side exhaust. There is still too much oil in her (1-2cm over the max level on warm) but there was no smoking problems before i went away. Does this sound like a temporary problem or have i wrecked my car. Also took off the fuse box cover and hey presto no relay thingy for the sub fan? Would this be a bad think (got one on order from nissan now)

took off the fuse box cover and there is no relay/fuse in the sub fan is this what controls the fan in front of the radiator. if so would this case the gearbox to get hot and the car to go into saftery boost because of it. drove the car realy lightly today for 40 mins in traffic and when i got to the dual carridgeway full boost was still there.

Only had the car 2 months and its only been on the road a week so dont know anybody who is local. Its already cost £1600+ to fix (4 new tyres, New Exhaust, New N/s Bottom Ball Joint, New N/s track Control Arm. Still goes into saftey boost and still judders like a git when braking. never had so many problems with a car, even my 20 year old £2000 Porsche felt a better car.

Doh same people u mentioned. I used them 2 weeks ago, fast delivery and the exhaust was nice. When it was fitted i was told that my decat pipe had to be shortened to fit it. cost me quite a bit to fix

I managed to get the battery connection on tight then went for test drive and same problem. I really unsure what causes it as somedays no problems, but somedays its has no power.

its flashed slow 5 times then fast 5 times what ever that means

Forgot to say my car is a 1990 TT Auto Jap with decat and Mongoose Exhaust

Hi guys, noticed that after driving my car for 20 mins its seems to loose power when i try to boot it. If i boot it a further 4 times it gains a bit more power each time. If i switch of the car and restart straigt away its fine again. I do have a prblem with the positive terminal on my battery working itself loose all the time which i will be replacing. Would this cause said power loss. watching the stock turbo guage its normally just over the last but one line. then it only goes as far as the 3/4 mark line then it goes back up but only to just before the last but one line. Am going to order a proper boost guage to be more accurate. The engine does not sound any different to me but then im no expert and i seem just to hear the exhaust when i listen for noises. The idle is roughish sometimes and a little vibration from car when sat at lights, but i put that down to the mongoose exhausts resonating

Im not sure if they are origional Nissan, the Track control arm and lower ball joint ive had/having fitted are Nissan parts

My car has recently failed 2 MOT's. The first was because the lower ball joint had excessive play (bad Juddering if breaking over 60mph) had this fixed and still the judder was there. Went back in for another MOT and this time both Steering Rack Gaitors were split and N/S track rod end worn to excess. Ordered the part from Nissan (Socket Kit-Tie?) which is being done on Tuesday. Do you think this is the source of my judder or do you think the discs are warped? (Visual look at discs show now abnormal wear). Regards Marcus

Mines a Jap spec but the fuse box is in english, I suspect that my car has had a crash that side and the fuse box was replaced as part of the repair.

Any of you guys in or around Bristol have a conzult. Im trying to work out why my car goes into saftey boost after being sat in traffic. I did recently put normal 95 ron petrol in, but only half a tank and when that went put optimax in. Im thinking about filling up on optimax and putting in an octance booster to see if this cures the problem first. I can hear detonation, but then the exhaust on mine are big and so loud i cant hear the engine at all. Cars costing me a bomb at the moment as it had some crappy exhaust on with SS boxes but the connection pipes were mild steel, so a nice hole appeared just before the back boxes. Purchased a Mongoose Quad SS sytem so hopefully this wont happen again and im hoping the mongoose is quieter then whats on there now. Anybody want the sold back boxes has a 2 big Jap style exits, mind you i dont think there worth bothering with. Marcus

Hi Guys n Gals, Just bought myself a 1990 Jap spec TT but have had a possible problem pop up which i hope somebody can shed light on. When i have been sat in stop start traffic for say 30 mins and then get to an open bit of road, i stick my foot down and it seems to be in saftey boost. The boost seems fine in all other driving conditions apart from this. Any idea's? (Caused me to get blown away by a Golf VR6) Also, do you guys know where i should take my car for any work in Bristol. I have been using a Jap Specialist near Bristol but when they said my 5inch Twin Exhaust Pipes looked stock when even a muppet knows stock pipes are quads i lost a bit of confidence in them.
