  1. no truck with you or your wife Vin and i agree upside down is a little ott...but for the sake of free parking which must be worth hundreds in a place like london etc...if the only thing you have to do is actually put it the right way up i guess its a fair cop...the same applies to pay and display tickets IIRC ...the only blue badge things i really get hacked off with is the brigade who think they can park in the residents bays as well as on the double yellows...err dont think so i mean how much parking do you want the rest of us to give up...and why have a blue badge parking bays 15 feet from the front door of a shop when there is 100,000 square feet mall behind it...!!?....i mean would the extra 20-50 yards to park up make any difference....? outside my office there are on any given day about 30 disabled badge cars parked up on the double yellows etc...yet take a wander into the high street you wont see anyone with crutches, sticks, zimmers or even wheelchairs....there are so many blue badge holders down here there is even road rage outside a lot as they argue over the double yellow line spaces...or park in the bus lanes and have a go at the dismayed bus drivers who toot their horns to move them on..!....there are too many swinging it with the badges that is for sure....but i'm not surprised seeing as no-where is free to park anymore so who can blame folks who want to park for free if all they have to do is flam the authorities a little....anyway its just a general rant nothing personal...had to get it off my chest cheers
  2. thanks for the post Rich, i may get away with it on the basis i parked up only to buy some chips and not a trifle as the law indicates....puddings eh?
  3. did anyone else see that prog with Trev Mcdonald on ITV about the problems with yellow lines and road signs about a week back? ....one bit esp got my interest it was about the T-bar req at the end of single and double yellow lines to make them legal or so the prog said.....well...i was doing a bit of boning up on parking issues because i dispute a ticket issued in a badly painted loading bay i had parked in and i found this interesting nugget.... law dont you just love it.....!!
  4. well how about making the new posts click only show advice, help and club news etc....then the general (banter) stuff could be filtered off...maybe..?
  5. i bought one for £20 about 3 years ago...broke down first time 2 weeks back...i spent 6 hours with it in the pouring rain out the back...cos i hate just chucking stuff away...and i'm electro mech trained...few dont know why you bother from the wife....but persevered and fixed it anyway for no money...very satisfied...almost enjoyed doing it...:)

  8. sounds like the PTU has a dry joint always seem to cut power when the car heats up as the dry joint leg expands and moves away from the contact....there was link to the Aus 300zx club on how to DIY fix...but its dead link now....anyone copied it off ? :( a series 2 PTU was made to overcome the series one shortcomings PTU = power transistor unit http://www.300zx.org.uk/terminology.htm for other abbrv's HTH
  9. yeah...my family motor had computerised mot few weeks back...apparently they (DVLA) will warn you by post when its running out....and if you dont renew or SORN it by the date then £80 fine...or sommit
  10. http://www.entitledto.co.uk use if for work its a very good calc....only critisism is the amounts quoted for any award are over 12 months unlike the Inland Rev website which pro-rata's the award into the months remaining till April....still should work out to the same if you divide into a monthly figure for both HTH

  20. vibrations at @ 40-50mph mostly are propshaft bearings...but similar vibes could be warped discs or sticking calipers IIRC
  21. yep....lack of garage is a bit of a killer when it comes to classic tried Bennets (try yell.com for the phone number) insurance brokers...they used to get imports covered with Club Norwich union....this is not the quote me happy outfit but a spin off syndicate

  23. they get rusted up with gunk and pinhole....thereby dropping water into the passenger footwell....basically they give you hot air in the cabin to keep you toasty on cold days...if it happens you need to bypass the matrix or you are off the road till you fit a new one
