  1. If all goes to plan I should be picking up my new Z tomorrow afternoon -WOOP WOOP! My first Z in over 3 years (but no. 4 overall ;) )
  2. Haven't had a Z for over 3 years Mac :( , been busy having kids (got 3 daughters now!!). Made an impulse eBay purchase on Saturday night though, should be picking it up on Saturday evening. Watch this space.....
  3. Hi guys, I haven't been a paid up member for a few years now (since before membership packs were introduced!) but I am looking to join up again. Should I be renewing my old expired subscription , or starting a completely new one? I would like all the benefits of the membership pack too y'see ;) :) Cheerz, Peach
  4. Absolutley gutted, been my fave band for years. RIP brother
  5. No, not the bumper/bodykit!! Lol My family grew by 2 yesterday, and here they are! May I introduce Ruby and Penny - Non-identical twin girls born at 13:25 and 13:26 yesterday by C-section, weighing 6lb 13oz and 6lb 15oz respectively. Babies and Mummy are doing very well but have to stay in hospital until Sunday :( I can't wait to get them home!! :punk::thumbup::angel::thumbup::punk:
  6. Nice runaround Nick, I used to have one in black with the cream leather. I loved it but the Mrs couldn't stand it 'cos it was SLAMMED to the deck and on 18's - rode like an apple car with stone wheels!! She convinced me to sell it and buy my first Z - good girl ;) :D
  7. I haven't worked on a Z for years, so it'd be a pleasure to help out. And a black SWB too,
  8. PS - I used to apply Supaguard when I worked as a valeter. I have one piece of advice about it... Don't bother!
  9. Be careful applying protection to fresh paint - it can stop the paint from curing properly which will cause no end of problems in the long run. Any decent paint protection is literally forming a barrier between the paint and the atmosphere, thus massively affecting the curing process. What I have done in the past is allow the paint six weeks or so to be fully cured, then correct any flaws in the paint (machine polish) and protect then. A synthetic sealant will offer a more durable, long lasting protection than a wax - whereas a wax offers a warmer, glossier finish. My protection of choice at the moment is Chemical Guys Jetseal 109, designed for aircraft. It's really easy to use, buffs off easily without dusting, can be layered for maximum protection and has a bloody good shine too. You can apply sealants first (a couple of layers) allow them to cure for 24hrs, then apply a wax layer (or two!) over the top to enhance the finish without compromising protection. Chemical Guys '50/50' is a stunning wax to use on black - amazing depth and shine! Remember, all of this is pointless if you're just gonna hose the car down and go at it with a grotty sponge every weekend, so a good wash technique is vital to keeping the paint tip top. If you're in Leicestershire at any point when the paintwork is done (and cured) I would be only too happy to help you out - and I've got all the kit too :D
  10. Me and the wifey in the Grand Canyon (a few years ago now) Me, doing what I do best :D (on a customers car I might add - I couldn't ever bring myself to own a Focus :hurl: )
  11. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I tried and tried to get a rear facing baby seat (necessary for new babies) into a UK Z, but failed. I even went to the trouble of taking the rear seats out and trying to mount something directly to the floor but to no avail. There are a few forward facing seats that will go in (don't ask me which ones!!) but for newborns, in my experience, you're outta luck. Solution = Mum goes in the back and baby goes in the front LOL!!
  12. Good news Naf :) Thinking of selling? Hmmm, I might be up for a buy back if I can afford it when the time comes. Let me know of you do mate ;)
  13. Mr Peach had one for a couple of years and we loved it. REALLY cheap to own, had all the toys (a/c, multi CD, electric everything, semi-auto, traction - yes traction!!). I drove it from Leicester to Southampton and back one day, without even getting out at Southampton, and didn't have any aches when I got home - very comfy. Sat at about 80 most of the time too, and still had enough fuel left in the tank to go to Worcester and back the next day (only £25 a tank then). Bargain!! And I have actually seen one driven carrying a full sized washing machine! Oh, and as far as I recall from my research back then, they were the safest small car on the road due to clever cell design. But if it's only for a mile, you should definitely walk you lazy bugger!! LOL!! :)
  14. Awesome! I would have to change the exhaust back to stock, get some proper BLACK UK Nissan mats, and then tuck it up nice and cosy in a climate controlled garage and put hundreds of layers of ridiculously expensive wax on it!! :D :p
  15. I don't like you any more. (only joking ;) :D )
  16. Disregarding the badge image, I spoke to three people that I trust in the motor trade and they all say that the Voyager is troublesome and expensive to own, and that the Kia is fully loaded, safer, and much more reliable (and cheaper). So, we went for a Kia in the end, but not the 50k one, that was really untidy - hence the price. Ended up with a 1 owner, 52 plate, 74k for £3.5k. I got a full service, new MOT and 12 month warranty all in too. Plus, it's from a decent dealership (a Nissan franchise dealer, ironically) who are going to put it through the workshop and do anything that needs doing so I'm confident we've bought a good family motor. Thanks for your input guys :)
  17. We are looking for a troop carrier and are stuck between two choices. Can any of you lovely people give me a quick opinion on the following choices, but please give reasons why if possible (especially if you've ever owned either). The examples I've given are representative of the sort of deals we're coming across. 2002 Chrysler Voyager 110k £4000 2002 Kia Sedona 50k £3000 I think what we're really saying is, is it worth stretching our budget to go for the Chrysler with higher mileage, or do we stay well within budget (leaving us some cash for sat nav, tints, mats etc.) and buy the lower mileage Kia? Thoughts please :)
  18. Congratulation to Pete and Lisa, and a big welcome to Little Tweak :)
  19. I'm with Si on this one (as usual)- the rear and sides look awesome, updating the Z lines nicely while retaining the 'factory' look, but the front end is a bit radical for me. Just personal opinion though, it looks well made :)
