catback systems?
How it ended: I decided to save money and got a friend to help me fit it, took us over 4 hours lol but was a good laugh. The old exhaust was in awful condition with a 12 inch split down the left hand side! no wonder it sounded like a meaty v8. It really is a high quality product and looks the part. Just need a nicer rear bumper now lol.

catback systems?
Ordered the japspeed one today and it should arrive tomorrow. Is it easy to fit? eg could i do it in a matter of hours with minimal tools or would i need to get a garage to fit it?

catback systems?
^^ yea thats they system im looking at on ebay lol. just not sure about the jap style cans. I remember when my primera's exhaust fell off just after the engine manifold, i had to drive 200 miles home with an engine that i dare say was 3 times over the legal sound limit for anything, it was a painful journey home and was suprised i didnt get stopped. Still was an awesome sound for a 4 cylinder engine lol.

catback systems?
mines NA but will hopefully sound like a proper V6 NA lol. With the hole in the exhaust at the moment its sounding more like a badass v8, cant stop driving it through tunnels and narrow streets lol.

catback systems?
cool, sounds ideal for what im after then. thanks :) One more question, the japspeed advertises a "balancing mixer" on the center section before the backboxes for a "true v6 roar", am i right in assuming pretty much all zx style exhausts will have this otherwise it will just sound like a 3 cylinder engine on both sides lol.

catback systems?
cool, i would prefer the mongoose system as it has the twin tailpipes rather than the 4" jap style slash. Is it louder than standard? (i think the standard exhaust is far too quiet for my liking)

catback systems?
Hey all, Need a new backbox as one of mine has a hole in it and i figured i may as well get a whole new catback system. Im not bothered about performance gains im just after a nice sound really. Been looking at the japspeed one (available for around £300) and was wondering if it was any good sound wise? the only other one i can find is the mongoose one but people dont seem to recommend mongoose really. Any suggestions or linkys would be appreciated :)

Headlights permanently full beam?!
heya, sorry for the late response, been a hectic couple of weeks. I spent today learning the wiring diagrams for the headlights and stripped the dash etc to see which wire went were (im suprised how easily the Z comes apart! only takes 5 mins to get it all stripped down). I then attacked the car with a multimeter to see if i could pinpoint a problem. The fuse checks out fine (which is confirmed by previously said rear lights are working), the pod checks out fine (all 3 switch positions (off, 1st, 2nd) check out ok) the spindle checks out fine (all positions), and the relay checks out ok (in its resting postion which is highbeam). Now the coil for the relay also checked out fine which only leaves the actual switch in the relay. As its a sealed relay i cant get to the switch to test it so i can only assume the switch in the relay is broken. Now i've spoken to 3 people who all say im an idiot and i quote "its 'obvious' that both headlight bulbs have simultaneously blown triggering a 'fail-safe' voltage to apply to high beams" Looking at the wiring diagrams for the car this is a load of b*lls and no such fail-safe exists other than the relay having a resting position of high beam! Sorry im ranting now lol. So long story short, does anyone know where i could get a replacement relay for cheap? or am i really being an idiot? Thank you for any further help! :-)

Headlights permanently full beam?!
Thanks for the pic Zed-sean, i think ill print that out and stick it over the top of the jap one i have. Ill check them fuses first thing tomorrow and let ya know if i find anything. Is the switch hard to replace? Luckily i have a daily driver so there is no mad panic for it. I appreciate the help so far

Headlights permanently full beam?!
yup thats what i mean, but the rear lights are on, i checked the fuse today and it seems to be intact, i was really hoping it wasnt lol. only problem is, all the fuse labels are in japanese, any other fuse locations i could check or will i just have to start checking all the ones i can find?

Headlights permanently full beam?!
Heya all, loving the Z but just come across my first problem with it. wondering if you can help :) Driving home tonight and the dash lights and headlights started to flicker a lot, then the full beam icon came on the dash board and about 10 seconds later my headlights went to full beam. They now seem to be permanently full beam as the stalk wont switch them off (even though i didnt switch them on in the first place). Is this an cheap and easy to fix common problem (fingers crossed tightly)? Seems like something has maybe shorted out or is no longer earthing but i dont know where to begin to look!
