I would tap it and put a stud in, once that's done its less stress when taking off and putting back on because the stud does not move

Have you fitted a new clutch and its making a noise or has it just started, if its a new clutch or old it could be the release bearing fooked

ffs *Bumper off UPDATE*
If you have spare car everything behind the bumper could be cut and welded in with section from your other car, think I would pull it out, plenty of ways to do it, the rear quarter is going to be the biggest cosmetic problem, as I said earlier in thread that will almost certainly be a write off if you go insurance

ffs *Bumper off UPDATE*
If you involve insurance I would say they would write it off, you could buy it back but I think your probably best off fixing yourself

NZR...clutch
Sounds like release bearing, I just helped my mate refit his land rover box after his new clutch ( 3 weeks old ) failed, the bearing which was a bit noisey when it was first fitted seized up altogether and melted the holder for it all for the sake of a good bearing :hammer:

300zx lifters
yup the same

Blue smoke sometimes when decelerating
could be tubby seals when you decelerate the zaust gas pulls against the oil seal and if they are worn the suck out oil and you get smoke

Manual Conversion Adapter Ring
Its done now but this might be handy for some one else get a bolt that just fits inside the spigot, grind a flat on the end of the bolt, the end with the head on it, round the other side of the head so it will tuck in at the back of the spigot, slip in a spacer so the bolt is trapped tight in the spigot slip over a big socket or tube, washer on end put nut on bolt and pull out. If you have a good puller with fine jaws you can grind in slots and use that too.

Ive got a noise
if its sticky lifters its not going to kill the engine imminently, sounds like lifters if its coming and going, big ends tend to go and then get worse, you can get additive to try clean them but I had to remove all mine and strip them down a few were beyond refurb
