  6. Im confused now, not that that takes much, are you saying its just the pedal squeaking
  7. Have you fitted a new clutch and its making a noise or has it just started, if its a new clutch or old it could be the release bearing fooked
  8. bb core so spool quicker than standard t28
  9. QH water pumps fail on the ca18 there is something not right with them, I think its specifically that pump, its to do with the housing, other than that used loads of there stuff over the years

  12. If you have spare car everything behind the bumper could be cut and welded in with section from your other car, think I would pull it out, plenty of ways to do it, the rear quarter is going to be the biggest cosmetic problem, as I said earlier in thread that will almost certainly be a write off if you go insurance
  13. If you involve insurance I would say they would write it off, you could buy it back but I think your probably best off fixing yourself

  17. Sounds like release bearing, I just helped my mate refit his land rover box after his new clutch ( 3 weeks old ) failed, the bearing which was a bit noisey when it was first fitted seized up altogether and melted the holder for it all for the sake of a good bearing :hammer:
  18. could be tubby seals when you decelerate the zaust gas pulls against the oil seal and if they are worn the suck out oil and you get smoke
  19. Are you sure its not leaking from the sump at that point, it can look very much like crank seal
  20. Its done now but this might be handy for some one else get a bolt that just fits inside the spigot, grind a flat on the end of the bolt, the end with the head on it, round the other side of the head so it will tuck in at the back of the spigot, slip in a spacer so the bolt is trapped tight in the spigot slip over a big socket or tube, washer on end put nut on bolt and pull out. If you have a good puller with fine jaws you can grind in slots and use that too.
  21. if its sticky lifters its not going to kill the engine imminently, sounds like lifters if its coming and going, big ends tend to go and then get worse, you can get additive to try clean them but I had to remove all mine and strip them down a few were beyond refurb
