  1. A very nice one tho` I love mine !!!!!!
  2. Hi, Not everybodys ideal solution, but here goes !!! Brute force and ignorance to wrench it out, yes it does bend slightly out of shape !!! Take a 4" or 5" grinder, cut off the tail that fits behind the pulley, dress it up and also cut a little off the side that bends in to cover the water pump. As long as you dont take too much off, it still does the job, ie, timing marks, covers all the necessary bits and after a quick coat of paint, you have a cover that comes off & on no problems !! Some may say its rough or a sacrilege, but its only a car at the end of the day !!! ;)
  3. No probs, Sorry for the delay in geting back to you. Post and let me know !! Alan..................
  4. Will try to explain this as best as I can !!! 1. Assuming your TPS is already fitted and you just want to adjust, warm up engine and turn off, leaving the ignition switched on. 2. Loosen the 2 securing screws at the top & bottom of the TPS. 3.Adjust by rotating TPS body so that the output voltage is 0.4 to 0.5volts. 4 When correct voltage is achieved, tighten securing bolts. 5. Disconnect TPS harness connector for a few seconds and then reconnect it. 6.It is not the top plug on the TPS that is well insulated, but the bigger plug that comes from underneath with 3 wires, Black, White & Red. 7. Using a Multi-meter, the Black wire connects to Negative on the Meter & the White wire to the Positive on the meter. 8. Get it to 0.4to 0.5 v and that should be it :D Can e-mail any one the actual page from the manual if you wantit !! Cheers, Alan.........
  5. Might be easier if I send you the page from the manual ???

  13. Meant to ask, Any oil flush or oil recommended ???
  14. Depends on what facilities you have. I removed the engine, stripped off the heads, fitted a pair of heads and a pair of turbos outside my house, up the drive with no garage !!! And I live in Scotland so it was raining most of the time  A weekend to take it out and fit the new turbos, then the next wekend to fit it, plumb and wire it shouldnt be too far out. I took some pics of the turbos to help with re-assembly which proved a mega bonus. ;) Alan.......
  15. Thanx Dave, Set it up knob on, now that I know what wires to plug into & what voltage it should throw out !! Alan........
  16. Ta much guys, Heads were upside down and a**e over tit when they were being cleaned ready to fit, haven`t revved the engine yet as the rattle is daunting !!! :nono: Something tells me to seek advice, hence this thread. Dont fancy the cupla 1000 miles scenario, dont have the time you see !! The engine flush and the proper oil sounds good tho !!! Cheers, Alan.............

  22. Just refitted my engine in my 89 tt auto after 2 new heads and a pair of turbo`s, and took care on removal to mark all the pipes plugs etc. However, got several pipes that i`m unsure off, any advice would be gratefully appreciated. 1... Drivers side, 2 metal pipes runing along the side of the plenum, about 5mm in diameter, connected at bulkhead but where to at the front end ???? 2..... Where does the single wire, with the black plug from the air-con pump go to ??? Thought I had marked everything but made a boo boo off these 2 bits !!! TA !!
  23. Just fitted 2 heads and 2 turbos and ready to fit the engine next weekend. Anything else that I would be wise to check, renew etc while the engine and g/box is out ???? Thanks, Alan.......
  24. My wife stil thinks i`m strange for insuring the car when its sitting up the drive with the engine next to it !!!! Weather permitting, it will go back in this weekend ! Fingers crossed !!
  25. Guys, The insurance company I am with is. DIAMOND INSURANCE CONSULTANTS, SPRINGWELL HOUSE, TRING,HERTFORDSHIRE, HP23 4BB Tel; 01442 825481 Proprietor is Mrs Diane Malone Dip CII. They do various means of payment, ie credit card, switch over several months or whatever. I was put in touch with them for insuring my yanks by the AAC UK. I was paying £211 for a V8, 5.7ltr Camaro IROC !! For a limited mileage policy they require a copy of the mot when commencing the policy, which is pretty standard. If you go for an agreed value they also require good quality photographs from the front, rear and both sides.
