I looked at doing this on my UK when I scrapped my JDM. Gave up in the end as its a lot of work to just fold them in. That was at the beginning of my project though and knowing what I do now I'd certainly have a go.

I turned out a little brass cup thingy on my dad's lathe. It plugged in to the lower pipe and then the drain tube from the targa pushed into the top. Haven't had a problem with it since and it only took a couple of weeks for the feeling to return to my hand after fitting it....

My best mates son is called Jenson, it's getting quite common now. Can't tell you what you should name them mate but I can say don't use stupid names like Princess Beyonce etc....

I can understand your reasoning behind not wanting couriers to deliver them but it is greatly reducing your market size. What about offering a courier at the buyers risk?

Can you not get noise reducers that fit into the back box pipes? That way you could have them in for long distances and then take them out for a bit of rumble when you feel like it.

Have a search for my thread mate, it was called "at my wits end" or something like it. Lot's of tips in there. My insomnia seems to come in long bouts. i.e I went for over a month with any sleep in the summer but I'm sleeping like a baby now and struggle to get up in the morning. I use zopiclone but it's very addictive.
