  4. This is such a shock, terrible news. my thoughts are with his family and friends.
  5. HI mate i fit screens for a living and would say if it was fitting correct before its not shrinkage you should have but stretching, i thing when the screen was removed the trims would have all stretched due to pulling the trims out, when it came to refitting the screen the trims were put in the wrong place's as the sides are longer than the top trim but the corner clips take alot of the extra size up, after a while the trim goe's back to its old size and is then to short. This is what i think has happened as i've done it loads of times, such an easy mistake to make if you don't mark up the trims, best way out of it is to break you rear screen, claim on the insurance £50 excess and ask for a new trim.
  6. My other daughter is 7 and im already digging boyfriend holes in the garden.
  7. At 12.20am sat 26th of august my wife gave birth to a beautiful 8lb baby girl, mother and baby doing well, decided we would have a home birth this time and it was everything and more that you want from a birth, topgear reruns on cable and our other 2 kids in bed, what a shock they had when they woke up this morning, took the z out for a victory drive this morning, I feel like the luckiest man in the world today and 2 weeks off work really makes me feel good.

Tonight mathew i am going to be a Lamborghini Murcielago.
  9. same calipers evo 6/7 and 8
  10. I also used 350z 324mm discs with the evo 8 calipers and adaptor brackets as this was a much cheaper route than finding and buying 350z or gtr calipers.

sorry to hear that, but understandable with whats gone on.
  12. yes thay do need adaptors made up but they are very simple and any local fabrication company could do this for you fairly cheap, did mine all for £300 new discs, secondhand calipers and new brackets bits and bobs.
  13. no its a 1996 fto mivec triptronic silver with a kit fitted really good car but need more room.the manual cars are very rare and triptronics are faster than the manual.can post pics if needed.
  14. It looks like ill have to sell my z and fto mivec, as both cars cannot carry 2 adult and 3 children, my 3rd child is due on the 24th of this month so i went and had a look at a few nice evo's today and the wife is happy with my choice as she would be the main driver as i also have my rac van.

i fit windscreens for a living and believe me they are not nice to get out in one piece, by the time you buy a secondhand screen and the glue and primers needed its cheaper to go though the ins and get a new screen and trims thats comes with a 5 year warranty against leaking and defects in the glass.
  16. so sorry, my thought go out to you and your family.
  17. my z had a similar story as yours and was told cambelt had been done recently, but i decided to change it anyway, on removal of the cam covers it was obvious the belt hadn't been changed. ifi had taken the sellers word id be looking for a new engine now.
  18. I have use red and green stuff on cross drilled and grooved discs and was never happy until i fitted evo 8 calipers and 350z 324mm discs, stops now.
  19. i did my water pump in about 4hrs inc cambelt change. as far as i can remember the belt won't need to come off, all you need is a socket set and some gasket paper or liquid gasket, not a hard job just alot of stipping down. here is a link that might help http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=lc&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=1&design=default&total=15
  20. hi mate im a windscreen fitter for the rac and i would recommend getting it done by a pro, if you haven't already bought the glass and are fully comp ins is the best bet as you will only pay your excess and you will have a 5 year garentee against leaking or any other defects.
