  1. WD40 is rubbish - use Plus Gas. If they're stuck hard you need to use a small puller. If they're stuck really hard, then just paint them on the car !
  2. If they are very dim then maybe a bad connection or maybe the dimmer is bust. If they're off completely then probably a fuse.
  3. This may help :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120 The air filter is attached to the AFM.
  4. Can't argue with that - you guys proved that at my place in October ! :D
  5. Listen to WillieO ! You can put larger wheels on without too much problem, messing with the suspension is what has the greatest effect on the camber. It is possible to adjust the camber, but you have to be creative OR buy different suspension parts. Make sure that the overall circumference (rolling radius) of the new wheel/tyre is as close to the original as possible - use the calulator that Insomniac posted.
  6. Well actually ...... lager has approx 10 calories per fl. oz and lemonade/coke etc 15 - therefore a pint of lager would have approx 200 calories and a pint of shandy 250 calories !!!!
  7. Well I thought it was funny. Does anyone still need it spelling out ?
  8. Unfortunately, if you are concened about running costs then it may be a decider for you. This is what makes the cars cheap to buy. Expect it to be heavy on tyres, fuel and servicing. And if anything breaks it can be very unpleasant indeed, unless you can get suitable 2nd hard parts. If you're a bit of a part-time mechanic yourself then you can reduce the bills significantly, but the best advice is, no matter what you get, get a good one, a bad one can be cripplingly expensive !
  9. OK, thanks. Will consult with the boss as this is a joint project - we will have two Zeds and need a practical car as well !
  10. It's a definite possiblity, wanted an estate but a hatch may swing it if the price is right. Post or PM me with what you may want for it, and further details. Cheers
  11. Smithy's stainless Jubiliee clips are OK, but I think the best are the OEM Nissan jobbies that are like two loops of wire and tightened by a nut & bolt. It's like having two separate seals.
  12. Where does it all come from ? http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/56/35890.html Spam villains: named and shamed By Lucy Sherriff Posted: 27/02/2004 at 11:31 GMT The US sends out more spam than the rest of the world put together according to inbox defenders at Sophos. Researchers at the anti-virus firm checked the origins of two days worth of spam, and compiled a list of the worst offenders. Although the vast majority of spam comes from computers in the US, the picture is not as simple as it appears. Sophos believes that a large percentage of spam actually originates in Russia, with spammers using hijacked PCs in the US to distribute their delightful messages. Yes, yes, but who are the Russians acting for: other Russians, or sleazeball Americans? Without accounting for any possible hijackings, the figures show the USA accounts for 56 per cent of all spam, with Canada coming a poor second with a 6.8 per cent share. China and Hong Kong sit in third place, followed by South Korea. The full list is here. The findings, based on analysis of hundreds of thousands of emails examined by researchers using honeypots and other measuring systems, serve to highlight the difficulty of legislating against spam on a national level. As senior tech consultant Graham Cluley points out: "legislation in the UK won't protect users from spam coming from North America or China. ®
  13. I voted no, purely because of the amount of work it creates for you - I know they keep you busy already....
  14. LOL at the Robin ! Yeah, both Pug and Xantia are on my shopping list. Never thought much of Ford diesel engines and wouldn't go near a Vaux diesel (having driven one once!). Gotta be impressed with the Pugs though - look at the stella mileage people get out of them. Frequently see them going strong with 180K+ on them ...
  15. There's a difference between 'porting' and tiding up the castings, which is what you're doing. However, I think what you're doing is worth it, especially as you have it all apart anyway.

Who is the underwriter for the Houghton policy ?
  17. PM me your full chassis number (including the model, eg GCZ32)
  18. And if you could fix that caps lock at the same time .....
  19. Have just had a fiddle with your user settings. Invisible mode is now enabled and I frigged with your avatar - just to prove that it can be done. Just pick a small image and it should be fine.
  20. Tell me the chassis number (better still get a photo of the VIN plate) and I can tell you the actual month of manufacture. Some useful details here too :- http://www.300zx.org.uk/import_dating.htm
  21. Am looking for a cheap, reliable runabout that can handle my regular motorway jaunts (250 miles) and carry a ton of junk around. High on the short list has been a Pug 405/406 diesel estate, been keeping an eye out, but just not made the jump yet. However, Karen has seen a 1992 VW Passat diesel estate this evening and it could be a contender. 77,000 miles and looking for around £750. Any thoughts, horrror stories etc of this model, as I know nothing about them. Of course if anyone here has something appropriate for sale then I might be interested. Cheers
  22. LOL - and whilst we're busy taking the piss it's conduction not convection ! ;)
  23. LOL - and Wales didn't come of too well either ! ;)

Can thoroughy recommend the RPS "street" for daily use on a midly uprated engine. It uses a new backplate with stronger springs and the standard friction plate. Feels almost like standard and doesn't slip. Got mine from Smithy.
