  2. "Don't forget to bang the rocks together guys !" - Zaphod Beeblebrox But you must get your priorities right .... A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2" in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full? They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The students laughed. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. "Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognise that this is your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks." "The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal." "Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand." But then.......... A student then took the jar which the other students and the professor agreed was full, and proceeded to pour in a glass of beer. Of course the beer filled the remaining spaces within the jar making the jar truly full. The moral of this tale is:- no matter how full your life is, there is always room for BEER!
  3. Yeah, make sure you don't have a confused imobiliser that's screwing up the ignition. After that, try the CAS thing like Smithy suggested.

  11. Sounds like good progress is being made already then. Great news.
  12. I can't think of anything more stupid or pointless (well maybe I could ...). Anyway, I think they should let the silly feckers go in the house, lock the doors, block up the windows, turn the cameras off and leave them there for a few months. They'll think twice about volunteering for anything so stupid in the future, just to get their 15 minutes of fame.
  13. Right now I wouldn't plan on them doing any urgent work. Suggest you find an alternative !
  14. Also clean all the connectors on the PTU
  15. It's asking me for ftp authentication

A number of people here would be able to help you with the ECU, I am one of them. If/when you subscribe then you'll be able to PM (private message) people and arrange this sort of stuff off forum. It's only £20 and the benefits from trader discounts should soon outweigh that.

If they just fitted a 110mph speed face then it hasn't been converted as such and the odometer will still read in km. You will still have the 180kmh/112mph speed limiter in place (and the annoying warning chime). The good news is that all the speed sensitive stuff eg powersteering and HICAS still works as intended. Usually they add a convertor box which makes the 180kmh speedo read 180mph (which is adequate- lol !) and the odo should be right. However, this screws up the speed sensitive stuff, which can be a pain. The real solution is to get a UK speedo and then the ECU remapped to have the speed limiter removed at that point. alternatively, with a bit of ingenuity you ought to be able to convert the speedo to read mph with the change of a resistor in the circuitry. Still need to do the ECU though.
  18. Good work - shame we didn't find another £5 eh ?
  19. There is a piece of software called NetStatLive at http://www.analogx.com that may work for you.
  20. You lot much be a bunch of saints ! I remember setting fire to the (inside) roof of my mates Dad's shed. We were just testing whether the flash point of celulose thinners was really 79C - like it said on the tin. Any excuse to set light to things ... Like burning the carbon/oil gunge out a 2-stroke motorbike exhaust - turns out I rediscovered the bazooka ! Exploding gas lighters and seeing whether they cleared the roof of the house Building model rockets (that act like flame throwers) etc etc
  21. I have the Stillen (Suspension Techniques) kit - make a huge difference. Std ones are hollow, uprated ones are solid. Got mine from Mike at MJP.
  22. You should all have membership numbers now. Check the General section in the Private forums.
  23. What do you get if you multiply six by nine ?
  24. Another heart of stone for me I guess. Two wrongs don't make a right - bad stuff happens - deal with it. I feel no worse for her than anyone else who dies of cancer, nobody deserves it but it happens fairly indiscriminately.
