changed battery
I have a battery conditioner that I leave connected all winter (now that my car is "resting" over the winter). Costs a little bit less than a new battery, but it means it's always fully charged and the battery should last years longer. http://www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk/ProductInformation/BatteryCareCTEK.htm

Boost jets
If you have boost jets which raises your max boost by say 25%, then your safety boost will also be raised by approx 25%. Dett sensor failure would be indicated by an ECU fault code. Is your boost gauge an accurate one ?

ECU Question
It will overfuel significantly, shouldn't actually damage it though (probably)

Warning Light..
What it usually means is that you have a loose coilpack connector and unburnt fuel is being chucked down into the cats.

chip off ebay??
It's actually simpler than that, an EPROM which is twice the capacity, and you use the switch to flip between the top or bottom half. You don't really need to alter the boost between the two different chips, although I guess you could if you wanted. I'd not recommend going about 1bar with standard injectors & turbos etc.

What I can do for you is a dual switched map, that way you can swap between the original and the tuned maps with the flick of a switch - makes back to back dyno runs really easy. Have done this for a few people now and been running it on my car for a few years. You could also use one of the maps for say a 'valet' mode - like seriously restricted speed and rev limiter for when you leave it with a garage all day.

I'm happy to write you a chip, with that image, PM/email me your address.

chip off ebay??
In that case I'm sure you'd be happy to know that I've never charged for the "free" chips, only the cost of the chip itself and usually a charge to fit it, if the ECU needs socketing. My ECU maps are not copies, I bought the rights. Anyway, if you have a writer then you can write the free image for yourself.

What's the best gearbox & diff oil.....
I used the Silkolene Syn5 for both.

Looks interesting!
I think the guys in Holland have done this, but it was a tricky thing to do. I'd be a bit concerned that the synchro on 3rd has gone already - on a new box ! Anyway, a Z32 doesn't really need a 6 speed box. (IMHO)
- just renewed

chip off ebay??
With a ConZult you can do some stuff like that, but for adjusting the ECU maps you need different kit. I think Racelogic sell an eprom simulator, which you can plug in and modify the maps etc on the fly. Sounds fun. Then you save the modified map back to a standard Eprom and plug it into the ECU.

MOT question
The general rule of thumbs is, if it's fitted as standard then it needs to work.
