well it's not my fav car in the world anyway lol but now it's gone down a bit more in opinion and i did google that Si and can see where ur comin from terrible defect though

i have a few mods planned for engine and im only startin off so pm us if u like prob also a few mods to exterior but i love the outside as is so why change perfection :rofl:

Sounds very very familier , so thanks for the comparison gonna see how it runs after oil change and add some Hydraulic Valve Lifter addative thanks chris

very clear and detailed thank you iv'e just been out to fill up and had a good listen and could bearly hear it from the level it was before ,and couldnt hear it in the car at all which i never have anyway and the car drove fine all the way even listened again once fully warm nothing!! but im certainly gonna monitor it and get the oil change done pronto thanks for advice bud and to evry one else

well there are a couple of what seems to be common faults but dont be put off they are reliable if well maintained (one i may have just discovered pending more investigation) nout serious though me thinnks;)well very glad to have u hear and cant wait 2 see ur z31

thanks m8 im gonna monitor it over the next few days and get the oil and filter changed as soon as 10w/40 sound like a plan:rolleyes:

mine's on a j-spec j reg and in general good condition with not many mods at min but the list is long look forward to seeing the pics bud and errmm rattles i have one or too lol

well your'e in the right place for help and advice there's plenty of threads to search 2 ! 82 k isnt bad at all what year bud? and you will have to give us some before and after pics

nice 2 know im not alone then ;) and i would have said tappets if it where a average car lol -hence the post will have to see if any better after oil/filter change. and yeah what is the lifter silencer anyone thnks

this is scheduled for thursday next week thankfully ! ive ordered 5/40w as reccomended ? the noise isn't noticable at all while driving , so as i say could just be me being slightly paranoid

It had a oil change about 10 months ago according to the history iv'e only had the car just over a month , but had the bonnet up a few times checking stuff and haven't really noticed it before where as today while checking belts it was an obvious tick could be nothing as there's no smoke and the car drives's fine As ive relised though most garage's round me wont touch em' , and nissan just qoute'd me over 500 for a alt belt change so i dont think i'll be getting them to check it !

Hi all (firstly as im sure u already know my mechanic's skills are not the best ) but while checking my belts today to confirm the one thats needs adjusting I noticed a slight tapping noise coming from the engine , now ive not noticed this with the hood closed so hopefully that should give a idea of loudness' as soon as i noticed it i tried to pin point and it seems to be coming from directly under the centre of the plastic cover over Plenums (i know that's pretty vage):wack: However the noise does increase to a degree in rate with engine rev im thinking valves etc but praying it's not:bow: any advice would be appreciated - Thanks chris

unsure but i should imagine if uv'e been gone a few years it would be classed as a new sub so it would be the higher price but as i said unsure so have it confirmed with a moderator bud hth:D

Im really undecided at the min on about 3 spoilers a i dont want anything outrageous although the Kaminari and just an original oem replacement are leading lol i hate decisions like this:headvswal need photo shop i think :rofl: but thanks si ! if i went for the Kaminari i prob would get rest to match
