the standard air box would be removed if u wanted to fit a induction kit, i plan for an apexi, but there are other makes avail just make sure u go for a quality cone not sponge ! and as regards a nice gruunt and uprated performance a induction kit would be a good but small first step hth

most induction kits will add a bit of induction noise and a slight gain in bhp there are various makes etc for the 300 the other option if u want to keep the original air box set up would be something like the k&N panels that just sit in>> (i dont think this will provide any change in sound though?)

swb is short wheel base /lwb is long wheel base (mine's a lwb or 2+2) there is a fair few quality examples for sale here on the club at the min ! u got a rough price in mind?

Sounds like could be the propshaft centre or rear gearbox mount, This would result in a vibration felt through the car/seat and usually happens at around 45/55mph although i think im recapping here, lol (as legrath said the same) but as u said it can be trial and error!:rolleyes:

:shock: OMG! had something slightly similar in a mates new corsa not long passed his test, (about 2 yrs ago) main rd ,30mph and a dog bolts from a side alley ,my m8 manages to stop and avoid the dog only for a 2nd to do the same that he just couldnt avoid we pulled up in a near by lay by only to see a guy in his mid 40's with 2 cans of stella in his hand shouting where's me dog as he struggled to stand his dog to our amazment was wrapped round the front left wheel arch covered in coolant long story short dog lived,Owner idiot;)
