my grandparents inlaw(who are both in there 80's) have an 806 diesel which they took to a main dealers to get repaired for excessive smoking engine.they replaced a couple of injectors and they said "the blue smoke was caused by crankshaft woodruff key damaged and caused pulley to move out of time. they have supposidly replaced this new belt ect and a service which cost them a total of £600. they have had the car back a couple of weeks but now it wont even start at all now. when i saw it the batt was flat but tried starter pack on it car turned over but not wanting to go? really want to help them as £600 is alot of money for them to shell out without having the car on the road. i recommended them to take to an independent garage for assesment?

pic not very clear but it is the switch towards the lock which is the problem. im 80% sure it will be that

more likely to be the switch inside the drives door .its connected to the locking mechinism via a bar. this switch can fail causing the motor on the passenger side not to lock.. this is exactly what happened to me test by applying a voltage to the wires coming out of it and see if the passenger door locks. hth gaz

think he wants the dimensions for the area inside the boot seal! if not then the carpet is a good idea

just get a large bit of card, lay it on the boot and trace round it on the underside simple!

tbh as long as you have money in the bank for possible repairs eg turbos ect go for it. but make sure you give the engine a major service before thrashing it (possibly 60k service !! oil change filters ect as belts may have become brittle). get it to a z specialist eg z tech or z centre to have it looked over to make sure there is no rot in it (as it has been stood for so long) all the best gaz
