  5. i got my z from a dealer in may and had some major problems with it, started to think that it was the worst decision id made, then found a few internet sites that backed up the unreliability thing. ive had most of the usual problems with the car although mines a NA so cant comment on the TT but after all that, i found this site and a few of the other forums and then found out that most of the problems are actually pretty common and most people have had experiences of them, i found help on diagnosing and in most cases fixed the problems and im not mechanical in anyway. few examples were when car died on me - through forum pages i found that it was the PTU, got a new one and it was fixed, clutch was playing up, found step by step on adjusting it and fixed, car had bad hesitation and high idle, cleaned TBs and airflow reg and its fixed. the wealth of knowledge and willingness to share has turned my mind from the worst buy of my life to a car that ill hopefully enjoy for along time yet!! have learnt alot in the process too. certainly wouldnt find that for a focus or something - that would have been dealer/garage whenever anything went wrong!!! darren
  6. left the z at work and got bus and train home, tried to get out the carpark but is on a slight hill and after a bit of wheelspin and swerving sideways figured it wasnt worth the risk!! just got it back from the bodyshop too! took about 20mins for quite a bit of snow to settle around reading!! never seen it happen that quickly before darren
  7. Have just paid by paypal but cant email or pm yet!! email darren@skratchuk.com
  8. Thanks all, Danny think you were right mate cheers, made sense and its not doing it anymore, typical z owner paranoia there, worry about major problems when its something so simple cheers
  9. would that not cause it to run cold all the time though?? this only happens if i put my foot down, then it goes back to normal temp!! only started doing this since i filled it up with the different coolant
  10. ive mistakenly topped up my radiator coolant with mobil coolant which was a pink colour, only to find that the colour of the coolant already in the car was blue/green, someone i know said there are 2 types of coolant and shouldnt really be mixed everything seems ok except when i accellerate, the temp gauge goes down, anyone else had similar probs/symptoms?? how urgently do i need to bleed and refil and what colour coolant should i be putting in it cheers
  11. what air filter do you have?? is it stock or induction kit?? i had similar problems when i put new blitz sus in, turns out it was caused by changes in air current to the afm, or try cleaning afm
