  1. so when did petrol prices in france decide to sky rocket then got back from my trip to the dordoigne yesterday 1300 miles round trip, no z problems at all :) all my paranoia and the huge bag of bits i took with me werent needed at all - some lovely roads as well - lots of inquisitive looks and i think half of the bug population of france splatted on my bumper and a nice caking of dust everywhere else - think its going to take some scrubbing to get clean petrol though - last time i went to france it was about half the price of ours over hear but now has gone up loads - even the supermarket 98ron was about 127 euros which i think is about 87p only slightly cheaper than here shell/BP on the motorways was about 93p overran my fuel budget pretty quickly but it was worth it some good days of driving and the z got a very good run darren
  2. taking z to france next week french autoroutes :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: the GB sticker the rac kindly sent to me is the size of a football and theres no way that is going anywhere near my Z can i get away with a clingy one for the rear window or does it have to be fully visible - if so do they actually come off again or are they there for life?? just wondered what any of you had done when driving abroad?? darren
  3. why does he say? Caution: This bulb is for 'Off-Road' or ' Show Car' use only. Please check your local / state traffic law before apply this product to your vehicle is that standard for bulbs like this??
  4. how could you own that for 9 years and have it off the road all that time especially if theres nothing wrong with it!!! ok so its nice driveway dressing!! but you would need to drive it at least on weekends wouldnt you???
  5. agreed - reckon if we had a count of all the N/As on here there would be quite a few Slick Pete. would be interested to know if the headers make a difference took mine to rolling road but ended up not being pushed as much as it should i dont think!! i think due to a dodgy MAF that was causing problems. was making approx 240 with 189 ft torque also very hot day which wouldnt have helped last time she was dynod at thor was 197 rwhp but that was before devin chip and lightweight pulley also a big difference in readouts from this place to thor as they added calculations for drag/resistance etc speedemon be interested in seeing your results as well - where you taking it? darren
  6. driving home yest evening and theres a quite long stretch of road so good visibility and a small humpback bridge with right of way the way i was heading - driving at about 40 saw this cavalier coming the other way - there was now way that he couldnt have seen me but he just put his foot down - not sure at what point on the bridge i realised he wasnt going to stop but managed to break at the last minute in a cloud of smoke and rubber - reckon a foot either way and it would have been either the wall of the bridge or head on collision as he shot past me - never had to really test the brembos in 3 years of ownership till last night - found out how good they are now though what kind of idiot would risk playing chicken on a tiny bridge - especially when they havent got priority and theres a sports car on the other side??
  7. cheers mate belts seem to be working after everything was put back together looks like the pulley is on at a slight angle though! would have thought 165lbs on the torque wrench would have made anything line up properly :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal apart from that everything seemed to go ok putting her back together
  8. been fitting unorthodox pulley today (my most adventurous mechanical attempt yet) and just managed to get the belts back on, ive got the right belts i think!! but they do all seem much tighter than the ones that were on there before but the power steering pulley is about as far right as it goes does this seem right for anyone else thats done this or is it just because they are new?? J-spec N/A Nissan PN# 11950-32F10 Power Steering Nissan PN# A195M-97E0MVW Alternator Nissan PN# A192M-42LSAVW A/C cheers Darren
  9. you definately wont find them any cheaper in insurance
  10. not read anything about this on the forum so probably everyones got one already but registered online and got my card through today 1 pt per litre of fuel and per month bonuses if you get over a certain amount 1500 pts make £10 so isnt the best loyalty card out there but like everything else is better than nothing http://www.shell.co.uk/pluspoints
  11. ive got a straight through system on my NA! had medium silencers put in and although took a bit of the edge off the sound it didnt make too much difference to it, is still quite loud but like rich said, you do get used to it
  12. I had mine refirbed with wicked wheels last month, cost me £70 a corner which i thought was a bit steep but mine had bad oxiditation and peeling on the insides as well as bad kerb damage they did a really good job though, look like new now. darren
  13. I found out i had exactly the same problem on the fronts the other week when i had the wheels refirbed are these kits universal or zed specific am just down the road from you in bracknell, never see many zeds around here though darren
  14. i got mine from http://www.airflow-uk.com can send you some pictures if you like, mines a swb and i think i got size C fits lovely
  15. yeah - actually redid search for flasher and found the same problem about the hazzard box and have rechecked that, have checked all the other connections but then its got too dark, the alarm is still functioning ok and the indicators flash as normal when i lock it so its not to do with that, so dunno cheers anyway
  16. its actually just the indicators, full beams do work (had forgotten that normal lights needed to be on first)
  17. dont think ive disconnected anything from the steering column!! would that be consistant with the full beam flash working though??
  18. decided to take the dash out today to try and quieten some of the rattles that nissan left me with, thought it was going too well..... everything was going fine but somewhere along the lines my indicators and full beams arent working! - the full beam flash is fine so to is the hazzard switch, a bit puzzled as to what has happened, have checked the fuses and they seem to be ok and now have run out of daylight!! anybody got any suggestions??? darren
  19. thanks - at least i know its not meant to be like that, had found some posts on tt net about the lack of hiss, am i right in thinking that it could be a number of things from hose leaks, filter etc?? or is it more likely to do with the fuel cap/funnel seal area?? darren
  20. thanks, are there any easy checks i can do to try and track down the cause? or is this going to be a garage thing?
  21. the car driving is fine, have been getting quite poor mpg considering its an NA but put that down to the idle problems ive been having which are now solved, slight fuel smell while driving but am getting round to replacing the hoses! just no hiss, the fuel cap looks ok.
  22. can somebody with the wide bodykit and fuel tank extension tell me if the fuel tank is still pressureised?? i dont get any hisss when the fuel cap comes off and dont know if thats cause of the bodykit or whether the fuel pressuriser on the engine is buggered
  23. managed to run into a speeding boulder today or it sounded like that anyway have got small dent in windscreen just smaller than a 5p but is almost in line of vision so think its a replacement job, is there any differences between the uk and swb windscreens or anything else i need to mention when i try and get this sorted out??? darren
  24. just got clutch master cylinder and its different from the one in the car - mine has the fluid pot a bit further forward and staggered and the fluid exit on the bottom!! the new one has the pot straight up and exit on the right!! does anyone know if this is this a change in year (from 1990) and is it easy to get new connectors or is this difference because mines a swb model?? darren
  25. i have exactly the same problem, doesnt matter what button or what temp it is at, no air through top ducts, what are the servos and is it an easy fix??
