  4. so when you coming over so i can check your motor out
  5. i have no idea what happens when an engine overheats so cannot say that has definately happened but your water will be very very low if you've been driving it since you bought it. i have a koyo rad fitted and it still dumps about 2-300 ml of water into my home made overflow bottle (but thts another story lol) every time i drive it
  6. the temp guages on these cars are crap and by the time they show you its overheating its too late there should be a hose from the top of the rad (just under the rad cap like you said) to the overflow bottle which sits behind the passenger side intercooler (long white neck and yellow filler cap behind pass headlight). if yours is missing then your rad has been dumping water and its been unable to suck it back in from the overflow bottle so lots of air in the system. :( when was the last time you checked the water level?
  7. John, you dont need an n/a pump, you can just re-route the pipe from the hicas solonoid to the p/s pot. There was a thread on this a few weeks back and John Dixon put some very good posts in there, try a search.

i can come and watch like i always do, and ask all my stupid questions like... "where does this go?" "what does that do?" "why is it like that?" "whats the point?"
  19. Rich, i ran against pete and he has a brilliant launch, he was 3-4 car lengths ahead of me before my tubs spooled up. Having very stiff suspension and 19s dsnt help with traction either. 1 sec may not sound like much but it works out to about a 50m lead and i got whooped by a new M5 that ran a 12.4 and that was miles ahead of me!

    i ran a 13.929 :hyper:
  21. Started with a mini convoy of chunk and madhamster, slick pete and me from some services just outside Leicester at 7.30am! Took it nice and slow to santa pod with pete having a little play with lovely skyline we saw in the last couple of miles (the skyline ran an 11.5 later that day). Met stevej when we got there. I didn't have a clue how things worked so pete ran through literally EVERYTHING with me  and I managed to get 5 runs in before lunch! :hyper: How slippery is that surface?! It's soooooo smooth compared to a road! I struggled to get good traction in 1st and 2nd all day but started off with 14.391, not bad for my first ever go. Ran a couple of 14.3s and 14.1s, gradually improving throughout the day. Except for a 17.0 i ran because i didnt have 1st gear for some reason  The rain came just before lunch and ate into the running time after lunch, only managed 2 more runs before the rain came again and they decided to call it a day. Ran 13.929 on my last run and im well chuffed :D , never thought i'd get into the 13s with my mods (boost jets, chip, filter, 19" wheels, very hard suspension and everything in the car) Saw a few other 300s there, only managed to meet davec and scratchuk, pity it was such a poor turn out for what promised to be a big meet. Big thanks to pete for the tutorial, and chunk for the directions home lol :slap: I had an absolutely brilliant day! Yaseen
