Hi all, Hope this is ok with the mods but I just wanted to see if anyone would like to donate towards a 7 month old German Shepherd puppy who needs an MRI scan. Hi, I'm getting totally fed up with the place who has my car trying to find someone to spray it. It's currently sitting with no paint at all on it and I'm not waiting for them any longer. I've got one place to call on Monday (thanks Darren) but does any know of any good bodyshops who can spray a pearl colour and can finish off some filler/fibreglass work? The only problem is my car is not exactly drivable so can't be too far from Watford/NW London. Thanks Vijay

Well I can't understand why a bare metal respray would take over 13 months so far!! lol Well I can when the sprayer was an absolute dickhead!!!! He's still spraying cars which is the worrying thing :( Fingers crossed it'll all get sorted anyway ;) Any idea what the 3M stuff is called?

I was actually looking into getting one, asked my mechanic today and he said the same thing, stick with a Jap model, stay away from Ford if you can. Vijay

oh see what you mean, it won't offer any protection to anywhere there's no rust :( So I need an aerosol etch primer then to protect the bare metal, is that what the 3M stuff is?

yep it'll only be on bare metal panels, just thought it sounded ideal cos "leaves a Zinc Phosphate coating to prevent further rusting".

do you think that metal ready can be used on all panels on the car? Would it help keep the rust off till it gets into a bodyshop?

lol, you calling me mad?? The stuff in my post is metal ready, didn't realise it was the same thing ;) Can't remove the wing, it's blended into the side skirt :( That's why I was hoping that spray on stuff would work. Gonna go over it with a wire brush on a dremel then spray that stuff on ;)

Hi all, As some of you are aware I've had a bit of a nightmare getting my car sprayed as a bare metal job. It finally looks like it's moving on but the problem I have is surface rust and it's especially bad where the door hinges are. The quetion I have is how do I make sure it's gone and ready for etch primer?
