  7. Hi Andy, Yep, changed the front hoses to. The only one I didn't change was the one that is hard to reach at the back of the engine. Vijay
  8. but it's all worth it when you get that Z smile ;) Vijay
  9. well basically my engine sounds very sweet (no knocking or anything) but I get the occasional smoking at idle and have been looking at replacing turbos. The problem is that it only does it sometimes. I've left my car idling for nearly an hour and nothing, no smoke at all. But it's been so bad in the past, it's embarrising, I'm talking about it bellowing out but only on idle. If I boot it, it's fine, there's no smoke. I've replaced the PCV valves and am using RS10/60 oil. The turbos have only done about 15k on them and are only a few years old. The thing is I'd be gutted if I pulled the engine, replaced the turbos and then it still smoked, so I just want to try and make sure I'm not wasting my time and money. Vijay
  10. well if you want to buy them in the UK, give Mike Feeney a call - 01277-374201 :) Vijay

I suppose that's when it really does come in handy, when you upgrade something. You can then see a before and after. Vijay
  12. Hi guys, Just wondering if there are any ways of checking the condition of an engine. Apart from a compression test, what can be done to check if an engine is in tip top condition? Cheers Vijay
  13. I'm sure Bob (safe and sound) said it was easily done with a couple of relays. Might be worth posting in his forum :) Vijay
  14. Hi David, Give Ken a call - 01277-811799 or 07751-149211, he's Mike Feeney's mate who supplies parts for the older Z's :) Vijay
  15. Cadpaul, nothing to fall out over bud :) Vijay
  16. Agree with Simon, ECU check is first thing. Here's an easier way of doing it - http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/ECUdiagnostics.html Or anyone near you with a Conzult? Vijay
  17. sorry but ecu error code 34 is the det sensor circuit, can't see how it's got anything to do with the plugs or coilpacks. http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=51&design=default&total=190 Vijay
  18. code 34 is the det sensor circuit, i.e the sensor itself and the wiring. It's got nothing to do with if you've actually got detting. Vijay
  19. Hi, Code 34 is the det sensor circuit, in no way would it cause your misfire. As you've said could be the PTU, double check the connectors are clean and fully seated :) Vijay

Hi Dave, Yes it's a common problem. A guy on Ebay is selling sachets of silicone gel which he reckons will cure this. I've bought some but I haven't had the chance to see if they work. Vijay

Hi Paul, Remove to t roof and you'll see 2 small holes, 1 at the front (directly above the sun visor) and one in the same sort of place but towards the back. Does that make sense? Have a look at let me know if you can't see them :) Viay
  22. Hi Ant, I've never heard of people being able to fix the clock once the metal pin has come out. It'd be helpfull if you can show us the fix cos I'm sure people have broken clocks that could be repaired :) Vijay
  23. yep, the centre hole is a tight fit round the needle, but it goes :) Vijay
  24. You have to be VERY VERY careful if you remove the needles. If the spindle comes out, your dial will be screwed. The ones I got do not require the needles to be removed. Vijay
