  1. well heres mu thoughts. if you have unpluged any leads up top id say that you could have a faulty or dodgey injector lead, if an injector isnt fireing stron and when it should yourll have a whitey bluey smoke comming out the back end. cas of unburnt fuel, and cas youve not used the car for eight mounths wont relise your running on five. cas your stationary. i would unplug check connections then try again. hope this helps
  2. look like a skinny versoin of my oz wheels. and if they are yourll never find the inserts ,ill have a look tom
  3. went out this morning and had indicators, got back to car ten hours later after being drowned three times in a helicopter crash simulater. whislt turning upsidedown straped in with a full harness and windows in whilst filled up with water. then trying to bring back a right dummy back to life, only to reliese that ur never going to bring them back to life cas one he was never alive anyway, and even if you did manage it he woulnt thank you for it once he relised hes got no arms no legs and probley a full rack of broken ribs. then of to get out safely of a container or two filled with black smoke so you cant see your noise, or nothing esle for that matter. oh yer sorry to diverse, to come out ten hours later to no indicators. but will work when hazard is on so fuse check tomorow.
  4. got a pm from the previuse owner al , and he says it worked ok brfore it went into bodyshop, prior to that it had one of those speed sensor thingy that plugs into gearbox cas befor awhile back and had some issues, what couls a bodyshop do that just affect your speedo and nout else. i dont supose there a fuse is there. so like al surgested ill have to borrow a uk clock plug her in and go from there,.
  5. i spent ten years of my hard earned cash and lots of love in to my car, and it was a goy and a great learning curve, but in the back of my mind i always fancied a shortie and dremed of a really nice wide body, so when there was a tinest chance in the world of me getting the right one i just went out and had to have her.if thats what u want go for it. but be prepaired
  6. well as you can see from the pics the blue wire eventaly from the convertor goes into the yellow wire with the thin blue line on then the yellow wire from the convertor went into the other end of the cut wire that was yellow and had the thin blue wire, the red wire and the green went to the board of the clocks as were they are now. i wired in exactly the same way as is was with the new one, so this surgest that we have two speedo convertors that dont work or its wired up wrong. from this ill asked alan previous owner who converted it and if it ever worked, before ,all the other dials work as normal but it dose affect the steering so next thing to replace would be the censor that plugs into the gearbox then, but i have been told that this was replaced. time to find out sequence of advents me thinks.
  7. Think ill start from the beging as when i took this old one out there was no splicing and only two wires going to the backs of the clocks
  8. Heres some more.think im going to start again
  9. As anyone got the link to speedo fix as i cant find it.and as you can see from the pics i was under the inpression that there was a wire on the circit board that need to be sratched away before fitting these convertors.heres what going on.
  10. Hi all yer i just found out that.on front are 9.5 and 10 j on the rear with an offset of 31mm.so looking at that caculater thingy to match the correct diameter with no difference the fronts would have to be 245/45/17 and the rear275/40/17. If i left the 235 45/17 on the front ill have to put 265/40/17 on the rear with a diameter readin difference if 0.16 percent
  11. dan i would say sell me the parts i need ie the tubs etc, you know it makes sence ,so send me the pics, anyways yourll proberly change your mind on the things that you would do in a couple of years anyway.
  12. right so i went and used your tyre guide thingy and came back with two results firstly 235/45/17 with 265/40 17 have a diiferent diameter of 0.16 percent and the later 245 45 17 with 275 40 17 have a difference in diameter of a big fat 0 zero at the moment the rears looks like there stretch over them wheels and look daft. the 275 will look good and right but its going to be a nightmare trying to find tyres that size
  13. i was under the inpresion that if i had three 17 wheels on my car and the flat one was replaced with fifteen skinny then ill be driving lop sided
  14. firstly i have 17 inch wheels on car and at the moment have 235 45 17 on front and have 255 40 17 on the rear, thou to me it dont look right i was thinking of 235 40 17 on the front but say 265 or 275 35 17 on the rear. wheels are 9.5 j on the front and 20j on the rear. the other issue i have well in the boot was a tiny thin spare wheel , well if i have a punture its not going to be any use to me is it, so im going to need a five spoke cheap 17inch wheel to fit in there, any ideas. any other car makes that i can use as a spare. oh and any good web sites or recomendations i use to use oponoe but not much cop for the 17 inch wheels , cheers
  15. thanks for that scott. i had to park there as its two wide to park in a norm space, and i dont want it damaged, by a wolly wiyh a door. anyway i am disabled , cas i cant spell.lol and thanks again alan. its in good hands
