Won't go over 140
Overdrive not working mate. Its more than likely the switch or the selenoid. Check your fueses first. I'm not sure if it has a fues, but something in the back of my mine is saying it does. Then again I could be talking complete *****cks and confusing the whole issue.

What is faster?
I'm sure that someone on here has a daily used srandard Z with about 180,000 on the clock and no major repairs. I also saw in one of the Zclub magazines (I think spring 94. someone on here will know) a white Zed that won best of show (standard Cat) and that had done 180k with just general maintenance. You can chip and boost a standard Z to about 430bhp at the crank = 350bhp at the wheels, but don't expect it to last too long before she does go pop. So 380-400ish is reasonably OK which will give you about 320/330 at the wheels. which is a fair hike as standard car only puts about 230 to the wheels.

What is faster?
If your thinking about whats going to be cheepest to run and maintain. Then don't mod any of the cars you've mentioned, beause unless you do it properly and that means spending about as much as it would cost you to buy a new car. I assure you they will break sooner or later. As standard I#d say the Skyline would be the most reliable then the Supra followed by the Z. I ran my Zed with 1bar of boost 130,000 miles before she went pop. How reliable and powerful do you really want. 350bhp is enough for anyone really unless you want to get into a p1ssing contest.

Chip advice
I've had 2 John Dixon chips and they have both been superb. He'll map you ECU to what ever you require.

Looks a very tidy car (No point saying its great looking because its a Z and if I didn't think they were great looking I wouldn't go through all the anguish of owning one) I do like that headlamp pannel though. MMMMMMM very nice.

Times u r reminded how quick bikes are compared to a Zed...
It wasn't good, but just tipical of me my worst break and I wasn't even moving. i read in the mail, I think, or it might have been the Express about the increase in Traffic from the 50's -60's, 60's - 70's, 70's - 80's and so on, but the jump durring the 90's was over a third from 20.something million cars to 33 million. It don't take a mathmatition to work out that we reached saturation point then. I think we need more people of the roads, but sped cameras are not the way. + the driving test should inclued an intellegence test and a behavioural suitability test. I recon 40% of people driving would fail that. Maybe i'll move to France. there's more miles of open road and less potholes.

Times u r reminded how quick bikes are compared to a Zed...
Fook I thought I'd broken a few bones. These are my only resevations about buying another bike. 1) I would have to see what she can really do. 2) if it does it then I will. 3) The roads are over crowded with fook wits oblivious to the fact that life exists beyond their cumfi seats. 4) That this lack of knowledge gives them the power to snub it out. 5) that once you are pozest by the snarling beast all intentions of riding sensibly evaperate. Usually by the time you press the start button. So should I? List of personal injuries. Broken ankle. Pulled up at traffic lights at 02.30, put left foot down only to discover some tw@t had remove manhole cover. I heard it snap. Fractured left arm just bellow elbow when left foot came of foot peg while pulling wheely. (I decovered I cannot running at 45mph whilst trying to hold up my inverted bike) Broken pelvis and damaged hipsocket. Hit by a motorbike followed by its rider.(he'd lost it coming into a bend just as I came into it from the opporsite dirrection. I was already comitted and well over when his bike slamed into my bike, flicked up and hit me. All on my right hand side (just bruses). I must have rolled and tryed to stand when he having hit the bikes and flicked up over them hit me in the left side and snap crackel and pop.) My pillon wasn't hurt. 4 Broken ribs and 2 broken fingers Again on left. hit GPO van that pulled out. + loads more, but the worst was Bike on centre stand in a friends garden, at a barbi. Me like a dick sat backwards on bike laughing that much I fell off backwards and fracture my skull. and gess what. I did damage to my left temperal lobe. Cars are safer.

Fuel blockade brewing?
LMFO     Go on Timmy give it some. You can have my vote. I know loads of em living out here (they windge even more than you Tim :slap:. I know its hard to believe  ) . Beef and sheep farmers. 100's of thousands of £££'s of new kit every year. I know two who personally call the subsidies Discovery Money, because they use some of it to by a new discovery every year.

It sounds like you and chunk had real serious spills. Mine were bad enough to have arthritis in my left hip and wrist and a good few scares to make me think twice about another bike, but I'm still toying with the idea of a Buel 750 just for the sunny days. You just carn't beat that feeling of nailing a real twisty section of road when you've had both pegs touching.

Do you swing to the left or the right?
Did you expect to be? I thought I'd be just right of centre not fairly right? suppose I'll have to moderate my views. Narrr boll*cks to that people will just have to take me as I am.

HICAS bushes
Yep you can get new arms and trackrods with new bushes. I had mine done and a new rear rack about 4 years ago. It did make a lot of difference at the time.

Manual TT engine loom. Same as Auto???
Hi John The reason I ask is that the manual box still has the manwell harness and I still don't have reverse lights or a speedo as a result, because the manual box harness has a different plug conector and more wires  Anyway i'm that pissed off that as you move the harness one way to fix a bit. The bit you move is that brittle it just snaps. So i'm just going to replace the lot. So I wondered if i'd need the alternator harness for the manual as well or would the manual box harness just fit into the manual engine harness and everything else be O.K.

Manual TT engine loom. Same as Auto???
I'm going to get a new engine bay loom (well the big and Small one). Are the manwell TT looms the same as the Auto TT looms and if not whats the difference?

HICAS bushes
Ditch the Hicas by getting an Eliminator and new track rod end bushes. Try Chris at Get GReddy.

Do you swing to the left or the right?
Well I'm not impressed. First one I'm only just a smidge right of centre. Second bit I'm a real right wing bast*rd Third bit I'm band in the middle again. no one in the office can believe it, they expexted me to com out as a Natzi. Mind you I've always said I'm a republican. I'm advised to vote UKIP what the. Fairly right wing. Not how I see myself.

Zed Interior?
I have standard Series IV UK leather and alcantara. I've had the drivers seat suport bolsters replaced where the leather began to crack and she looks quite new inside (some i've seen looks like Elephants have been living in there) However when I've eventually got the exterior finished I'm going to have the interior retrimed in cream and navyblue leather. With contrasting piping.

PTU is it Mitsubitshi or Hitatchi
I've just been on with Courtesy who inform me that all series II PTU's are are Hitatchi and that the Mitsubitshi units are series I and no longer available. The series II PTU was first used on late series III (93) cars apparently according to Middlehursts. P.S. Thanks for the Drawing and part No's.
