  1. OK. Thanks for sharing your experience and tips as well
  2. Hi peeps, Last week while on a long drive, I noticed my drive belt started to make noise and I thought may be it was water related problem. However following day I realised almost all the oil in the power steering pot has gone. My question is - could this be just a leakage from the pipe or is it the steering pump? I tried to trace the leak point and it's around where the main pipe from reserviour pot joined the steering pump - very difficult to reach. Would I be needing another pump or just find a way to tighten the pipe from point of leakage? BTW car still steer easy like before - not stiff at all thanks Ade
  3. Hmm... thanks Pete. But Pete are you saying there are no people in the States running Jspec cars? And there are no 100 Octane over there? I though there race fuel is 100 Octane or am I mistaking? :(
  4. I'm getting this kit for my stock car, Is anyone running it here yet I'm aware there are difference in the fuel rating between us an the US, but I'm sure Ash can take this into consideration cheers
  5. You need to work in a new rear fog lamp or convert one of the rear light then MOT, Insurance and registration hope this help
  6. So you see you don't beat the old dog just because it refused to play, you're better off finding out why she refused to play...
  7. it could the AIVC control, it may faulty. A good cleaning may save you couple of hundred £. Having said that, it is not ideal putting your foot down on a car that is not warmed up yet, you are not wearing out your engine, if the car is a turbo, you're are ruinning your turbo as well Goodluck
  8. Sorry there, I have to disagree with you on the safety of the 300ZX. It might have been design in the 80s, its saftey record to date surpass many other so-called modern day sport car. have you been involved in an accident in a ZX? I suppose not and I hope you'r never been in any accident for that matter. I have been and I'm happy I was in ZX when it happened, worked out of the wreckage not even with a scratch. Point is give credit where it's deserved
  9. thanks for that info. You make my day:)
  10. The above was offered to me yesterday by a Mech friend. Manual in the box indicated the shock is manufactured by a company called Gasmatic Int. based in Basidon Box indicated its made fr 300ZX. does anyone know of this product as I'm tempted to buy it thanks
  11. shouldn't that be telling us something.. GCZ32 are becoming rarer than ever and good example are not so common to come bye. In a few years they will be difficult to get hold of. I got my early 94 to UK with all expenses close £6K just because its very low milage. Yes you get a newer car in 350Z but in look, performance, it can stand the 300TT.
  12. Really... Ok,maybe I just change fill-up station then...
  13. I have been on V-power for quite a while now (right from when it was call Optimax) but after the last refill it did seems not quite right, infact when I check my exhaust, there are quite a residue of black smoke on my otherwise clean tail pipe. Could be just bad fuel, perhaps plugs..? I'm tempted to put in Tesco's 99 Octane. What do you folks reckon? thanks
  14. Yes Clarkey is right, except you go for the light weight performance wheels, additional weight will affect take off especially - which is why most people go for lower weight alloy or stock ones when measuring how fast their car is in quater mile etc. that said once the car is rolling, it make very little or no difference that is just IMO

If it's not too late, now that I have another Z, could I join the list too please
  16. I do like it though - the rear fog light I mean. Its better than some lights stuck at the bottom of the rear bumper as seen in many imports car, our ZX included...
  17. And what brand or product-name please - me ZX is in serious need of top quality polish - bought one but it leave white marks on the trims :( And nice care Pete..
  18. When I did it couple of years ago, I simply had it air blown until there are no drop of oil coming from it before fitting the trans pipes to it.
  19. Well I'm going to do a 250 mile drive to Birmingham tomorrow, I hope that should sort her out. And yes, its 27K mile - that is why I snapped it up. 41227 km when I picked up at Southampton port. Car went through inspection in jap to ensure its not been rigged. The guys also have a rare yellow one that is only 19K miles but they are asking too much for it
  20. thanks Dutchy, yes its same as lifter. I guess I drive for another 100 miles and then try that hydraulic lifter fluid. thanks again
  21. I'm having this small tippet noise on my 27K miles TT, I understand it has been sitting for 3years now but with regular engine warm-up at Export dealer's garage. I have change the engine oil with a Pro S Silkolene 5W-40, I can still hear this tippet noise though not as much as before but would like it to stop altogether Any ideas on how to resolve this issue short changing the tippet? thanks
  22. I don't mean to highjack your thread Mark, just can't resist saying one or two things on the above being used as an example. Hi Richie, how is it going? regarding my dealings with you, I doubt if it fits the same senario here. 1st, I still maintain those tubs works perfect in my car and it was inspected by both of us before you left my flat. When you rang to say your mechanic query the left bank tub, I told you to return the tubs and have your money back - is this right or wrong? Also this mech has never work on PE tubs before more so he is a Merc mechanic - no disrespect but even Nissan trainned mech find 300ZX TT hard to work on..... If i wasn't at the garage when the tubs were being separated from the engine, I would have said maybe my mech damage the tubs, besides my mech knows how much they cost - as he was after one for his car as well. 2nd, I never wantted to sell you my boost controller, only did so so you could enjoy the tub as I thought at the time I would lay off 300ZX for some time to recover from the shock of loosing the car. I remember the initial problem was that the mech didn't know how to set the boost controller. After I went through how to set it with you on one of our many conversations, you confirmed to me that the boost controller was then working only to read about it now that it never worked. Ah you never paid for it neither. I hold no animosities either. I thinks there are two members here that were not happy with their items parted from the car and refunds were made. You're a right about fustrations when things like this happen but they do happen even with new items but communication is the key. Like my mother always say we are like a river, you never know where our path may cross or meet.
  23. Vpower is same as optimax just rebranded

I def read somewhere that O/D needs to be off when driving between 0 - 40 mph and on any speed over 40mph. I also heard from a Nissan dealer that driving in excess of 70mph with O/D off will wreak the box. Driving with O/D on less than 40mph also consumes more fuel than driving with O/D off. And BTW my definition of ON is that the O/D OFF light is off and OFF is that the O/D OFF light is on on the dash board - Could someone confirm this please? Its not helpful when some says leave off other say leave on we need to be definate Thanks
  25. I need my subscription updatd please.... have urgent deal to complete:) thanks
