  1. I got an mp3 player in mine but now use the Ipod along with a mini fm-transmitter that clips onto it, tune the radio station to 87.9 and you get 40GB of MP3's :)
  2. widebody 911, or Skyline GTR for looks I still prefer the zed to a skyline widebody 911's are nice too - Id rather spend the £15K modding my zed :)
  3. if it booted in safe mode after running chkdsk you may find it will boot normally without a restore.
  4. another thing to try is to enable boot logging from f8 menu and it will create a log for you to see whats failing.
  5. have you tried running a chkdsk on the maxtor?
  6. when you say you can access the drive - is that from booting off another disk into ME then in file explorer you can see XP files (presumably formatted as FAT/FAT32)?

  9. Press F8 as windows loads and a sub-menu comes up (where you go into safe mode) when loading and try last known good configuration

  11. You have PM MAte basilcally - put drive back in a pc running xp, and do a WINNT32 /SYSPART this will partially install xp onto the 2nd drive then when you unplug it and plug it into laptop it will resume XP installation. It will be made bootable for you.

  16. Mark - theres some software called Active@unerase undelete or Easy Recovery Pro All of these should un-erase and restore your data for you

  19. Mac1, what virus did it not pick up? I have Mcafee on disk I scanned with, and Norton, obviously none of them picked up any viruses that the other did not - prob coz I dont have any viruses. Be interesting to see if new AVG is missing a virus though.
  20. goto http://www.grisoft.com Download AVG free I actually paid for Norton and stil have some subscription left but have binned it for AVG Free :) Its a smaller memory footprint and works perfectly :) and its FREE

    I for one think the garage in question should refund your money. I know Pete and have seen the stress and problems this has caused him. I couldnt go without my zed for nigh on a year then have it back in a worse condition and be money down!!!!
