Depends how reliable and sensative it is. slightly damp/new wood might set it off? Damp mornings/air might set it off, imagine having to replace the mechanisam and blade 30 times a day cos it keeps going off wrongly lol But still very impressive!

Ignor them, have it on 4 stands. If your under the car keep a wheel or two under there out the way with you so if the worst happends you have a survival zone. All good

or to be a bit more clear, go into the BIOS find hard drive setting or SATA settings and it will most likely have the options of ACHI or Compatible. You want compatible

Sounds like you need to set the disk to compatability mode in the BIOS (F2 setup)

Wont ever use them, 90% of the time they are taken off write-offs or have been puncher repaired. I like to know the only thing keeping my car attached to the road with 300bhp is gonna be spot on.
