yeah the whole point of the socket is so you can swap chips whenever you like. as the socket is soldered onto the ECU i wouldnt recommend de-soldering it and re-soldering it elsewhere. surely theyre cheap enough if you need to buy another.

probably just an EPROM socket. not sure if there are different dimensions tho - sorry cant help more.

with the minmax method dont you create a tree of all possible legal moves to a depth of 'n' right down to all winning scenarios, score them, then filter back up the tree and make the AI choose the best path. never implemented it before, only done the theory and that was a bit of a headfk for me!

doesnt sound like an autobox problem. fooked autoboxes generally fail to change up at all after 2nd gear. there are probably a handful of things to check - TPS as above, ECU diag, maybe AFM. fingers crossed it shouldnt be a big problem.
