you probably wont notice much power difference, but you may notice changes at idle, or when red-lining it, and also like you said a poorly-setup EBC can slow everything down a tad. sounds stupid but did you put the eprom in the right way around - IIRC there's a little indent thats supposed to point towards the centre of the ECU (im 70% sure its the centre, not the near corner!?!) EDIT: as Hellraiser says, it more than likely had an aftermarket chip in anyways (even a JD :p )
