  1. The reason I have been a bit quiet over some months, Bills cancer came back after xmas, and after a very tough battle borne with great dignity he passed away last Saturday morning at home in my arms. We were only 8 short years together but he was the love of my life, even at this old age. I know some of you met him and he was a really good man, fun, generous and full of life. While Bill knew absolutely nothing about cars especially Zs he fully supported my interest in them. Also on another sad note for those that remember him I had only heard a few weeks ago that Chewie also lost his wife Adelle in April.
  2. Yes and all the paperwork that came with it, Order form, factory checklist, Bill of sale and receipt, brochure, 2 spare keys, all the mots up to 2015 verifying the mileage , the receipt for the full rustproofing at purchase inc drilling and wax oiling the sills, yes a nice find its not a 300zx but rather more sedate
  3. Thanks Jay. I passed the 7k mileage on that little trip this morning
  4. i hope to be there 10.30 ish. I just got alarm and immobiliser fitted this morning the guy said it had the cleanist wiring he ever seen in a car that age.
  5. Thanks all I have passed on all the good wishes. I will probably take it to cars and coffee this Sunday am in Bray. Jay or Dave you going??
  6. Hi all my old pals, long time since I have been on here, mostly because my love Bill is quite seriously ill. I was 60 last month and while most women get jewellery I got myself a 1981 280zx. A love very original example with less than 7k miles on the clock. all the MOTs to verify this, original bill of sale, receipt for full rustproofing and undersealing done when it was 2 years old. I will try get pics up. I have wanted a classic Z for a while, to suit my new age, but the 240 and 260 are gone way out of my price range. Have to say I am very happy with this buy.
  7. Just to add to all that has already been said, fantastic weekend with some of the best cars in the club there and of course great owners. Thanks to all Committee etc for the organisation. I made a last minute decision to fly over, time and funds not allowing the ferry, and I was so glad not to have missed it. For me the club has always been as much about the people as the cars. I met up with some old friends, met some new members, saw great cars, lovely meal and a bit of fun/banter on Sat night, thanks Mondo!! Et all. I had a great drive with Ianl in his convert able to the venue, didn't realise how mad I was telling him to break lights and go faster when he was already at 120. Sorry. The first Club event I went to was in Coventry in 2003/4 and was very memorable as it was the first time I seen a convoy of Zs. And all these years later I still get the same feeling when I see them all together Next time I will have my car there Thanks all.
  8. Wow, I am tired and broke just from reading this thread, great progress Richie, it will be some car when finished

  18. Hoping to , I have a club banner, Imam not to drive for 3 days, and I suppose it will really be how Bill's operation goes on Friday. However my daughter said she would take my car down.
  19. Angiogram over back in ward, I will get out this afternoon, and better still preliminary looks like NO plaque or blockages at all, arteries all look perfect, so no I can concentrate on looking after Bill. Thanks for all the good wishes X
  20. Thanks all, didnt have that much really, just cannot sleep, each word means a lot. X
  21. If I lived on the wonderful Island that is the UK, I would consider this, but it is not practical. However I did say to Gary that I would willingly organise JAE next year, while we had a good number of cars and great people our stand and the effort put in to it was dismal to say the least. No blame on anybody, I had met Lexx at LakeZ so understand totally. the NEO position is a big committment for anybody to take on.
  22. Thanks Simon, hes out with his pals tonight so thats how im having my little cry, for him im like granite, your such a nice person X
