Manual gearbox bhp limits
So for 800bhp I'd need a uprated box then:rofl:

Manual gearbox bhp limits
OK lets try for a straight answer to this one then. What sort of power figures are people running though the standard gearbox.

Manual gearbox bhp limits
Can any body tell me the BHP limts on a standard Z32 manual gearbox. Also what upgrades are there for them. Cheers Stu

Fuel capacity
The fact that the RB is easier to work was one of the things that pushed me in that direction + is easier to get 800BHP out of a RB.

Fuel capacity
Now I've got the engine out & I can see the space I have to work with, I'm not sure the TT set will work, the rear turbo being the problem asfar as space goes + it's one more lot of pipe work to run though the engine bay. So I'm looking into a single set up.

Fuel capacity
Dark Warrior - I'm in the process of fitting the RB30. I've got the shell stripped. I'm just waiting for a RB30 to turn up or I'm going to get one from Ebay in OZ. Legrath, Zx-eyes - thanks for that. I can start looking into the cost of tanks. A alloy/plastic tank would also make my full system a bit easier to pumb in.

Fuel capacity
Whats the capacity of the standard fuel tank on a 1990 Jap import TT 2+2. I'm looking to replace the tank with a alloy/plastic fuel cell & I want to stay as close to the standard size as poss. Cheers Stu

6,000 rpm wall
I had this on mine, but at 5,000. A change of plugs & coil packs sorted it.

Failed MOT..
Could you not reroute the brake line around the subframe, as the lines don't have to follow the same path as the orignals they just have to be supported.

brakes squeaking
The squealking from the brakes is most prob the pads sticking in the claipers, where it's been sat for a while. I'd take them out & clean them up & refit them with a bit off copper gease where then touch the caliper. Also check the disc's are'nt to badly rusted. Not sure on the smoke.

Help with ecu+fuel pump
Found this on the interweb. The Air Flow Converter takes the pulse (frequency) from the Mass Air Flow meter and either speeds it up or slows it down at different RPM points to make the ECU run the injectors either richer or leaner. All by itself, it can only give you a little more bottom end power by leaning out the mix some. If you try to richen the top end you will just hit fuel cut (100% fuel inj. pulse) sooner. One use is to cut out the restrictions in the lower half of the MAS (leaner) and then use the AFC to richen things back up. This gives some benefits similar to the VPC without the strange idle problems. If you have a 90-94 Eclipse, an excellent use is to convert to the MAS from a 95-99 Eclipse. The wiring connector is different but can be swapped to the 95-99 plug. The wires are the same. The calibration of the 2G MAS is different but the AFC will allow you to compensate for it. The best use for the AFC is to install larger injectors (runs richer) and then adjust the AFC leaner to compensate. This also raises the point where you hit fuel cut since the ECU sees less air flow (lower frequency Hz). Installation is simple, and only requires tapping into 5 wires and cutting one to intercept the air flow signal. This is all done at the ECU. There are 8 RPM adjusting points to adjust the air flow + /- 50%. These points are user defined within a 1,000 RPM band so that you can get finer control in certain areas if you need it. The rpm points come pre set at every thousand rpm from 1,000 to 8,000. The graph is highlighted for the rpm range you are setting. The Super AFC also allows for two different maps according to load. It makes the load calculation based on the Throttle Position Sensor. You choose what is high and what is low. We normally set it for 30% low and 80% high. Sounds more like it alters the signals going to the ECU than anything to do with the fuel pump. Sounds like you could have a bad connection or doggy relay. The ECU you swapped in, was it the same as the one you pulled out?

What is this?
I've just pulled the same box out of my Zed. Luckily in one side is written Zed world but on the other is fuel ecu.

Can anybody identify these - a challenge
Nope not using the OS RB30 conversion, ether getting a RB30S out of a Y60 Nissan Patrol or getting a bottom end from RIPS in New Zealand. Going to use a Skyline GTR head & inlet manifold, plus a custom made twin turbo exhaust manifold with external wastegates. I planning to get about 800bhp at the flywheel. I'm using a RB25 gearbox & one piece propshaft.

Can anybody identify these - a challenge
Cheers for the help. Buy the time I've finished striping the car down I'll probably have boxes full of stuff that I have no clue what they do, Nissan seamed to fill the car was stuff, probably why there so heavy :wack: :wack: . Darrell My project is to turn her into a drift/track day but keep it road legal. The VG30DETT is getting replaced with a RB30DETT.

Can anybody identify these - a challenge
Hi As you can see from my post count I'm new to this forum, but not to 300 ownership. For the past 4 years I've owned a Jap import Z32 TT auto. I've now started a bit of a project with her & as a result I've got some bits I can't identify & was hope you could help me out. 1 2 3 They're all from the passenger footwell with the engine ECU. I think they might be something to do with the HICAS, auto box, or A/C. The car is a import Z32 300zx twin turbo with the auto box that has the 3 different modes. I hope you don't mind that my 1st post is asking questions. Any help would be greatfully received.
