  1. Just wondered if anyone knows whether or not applying Iron Phosphate to the inside of a chassis would prevent it from rusting from the inside-out? Some guy from Leeds University kept mentioning it at the Classic Motor Show last weekend. Cheers, Dave
  2. I'd be feeling lucky that nobody was rolled!
  3. Here at the Uni almost everyone has one. I've been lucky so far, but only because I've had two colds already.
  4. I remember that live! Very funny. I filmed DC's farewell interview at Silverstone and It's also quite funny. I'll get it up on Youtube this week.
  5. And today's rate? 1 Pound = 1.496 Dollars from Travelex FFS
  6. Don't buy the V6 one, I drove one a couple of years ago and didn't think much of it at all. Also don't EVER lock your keys in the boot like I did LOL! There's no other way in there than with the key/fob.
  7. I'm supposed to be off to the US next year and nearly bought dollars when the rate was was 1.99 to 1. I've been watching sterling plummet to a 5 year low and I'm really beginning to regret the whole idea of even going now. Why is this country so honest and upfront with the rest of the world. The Bank of England's speech by King really shafted sterling today, not to mention the fooking media coverage. Meanwhile the Americans are keeping very quiet about the state of their economy and the only thing in the news is McCain vs fooking Obama. No wonder we have no industry left:- http://uk.reuters.com/article/ukPoundRpt/idUKLM16366720081022
  8. Relinquished my old paper licence 6 years ago, which was due to expire in 2039. Just found out now that the cheeky pricks force you to renew your picture after 10 years and charge you £17.50 for the privilege. Just thought I should let EVERYONE know not to give up your old paper licences, otherwise it'll cost you £17.50 every time you are FORCED to renew it:xxx:. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/NeedANewOrUpdatedLicence/DG_078070
  9. This sucks BIG time:- This year, a very significant change is that people born in Russia are eligible again, after being left out for several years. Which Countries are excluded from the US Green Card Lottery? For this year's DV-2010, natives of the following countries are NOT eligible to apply because they sent a total of more than 50,000 immigrants to the U.S. in the previous five years: BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA (mainland-born), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, ECUADOR, EL SALVADOR, GUATEMALA, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, PERU, POLAND, RUSSIA, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM (except Northern Ireland which is eligible) and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM. Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible. I wish I was fooking Mexican. FFS they're flocking over the border:headvswal
  10. 100hp more makes you feel alive - especially in the wet! I had exactly the same problem when I first bought mine.
  11. Welcome to the site. This sounds like a characteristic zed gearbox noise to me. I've been in many zeds that make this noise, always in 2nd, 4th and only at low revs. The noise at tickover could be caused by a worn out rubber in the gearbox mount. Sometimes just a hole in the shifter gaiter can be enough to let in more characteristic sounds like this than normal. Anything on the gearbox touching the body will also make this louder. Just a thought.
  12. Has anyone with 555's on stock internals run any decent amount of boost with out popping their engine? I'm assuming it's the fuel mixture leaning out, causing detonation after 15.5 psi, which kills the engine on stock injectors?
  13. I'd love to shoot out the tube, but the Missus won't live without TV and I'd miss watching the ONLY programme worth watching - Top Gear.
  14. You were lucky. Shipping as a gift is no longer sufficient. My brother got stung £95 the other day even though the item was fom ebay and was shipped as a gift. If the seller enters the true value of the item on the green form, then that's still reason enough for import duty to be imposed. Remember the government is on its ass and is looking for new ways to extort an already poor nation!
  15. Cheers, I'm just hoping the inflated prices will be temporary.
  16. Anyone else booked a holiday through XL/Travel City? Just had to tell my 4 year old daughter next year's holiday is off. Had booked the hotel, flight and car in FL. What really pisses me off is the fact that the other travel operators have now ramped up their prices. Not sure I can afford it now:(. Picked my mate up from Manchester Airport today aswell, he's just had a great time where I was gonna go next year. Not happy.
  17. http://edition.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/09/08/microwave.baby.ap/index.html Shame she was spared the death penalty. Unbelievable.
  18. I don't really know what's causing it, but I can tell you that the summers in the 70's were FAR more predictable than the summers of the last 10 years. When it was dry, it was dry for more than one fooking hour like it is these days. Only the other day I was looking at some old slides from those days and the skies were blue on EVERY picture taken in June 75. Britain is in a location where two weather systems meet and we rely on warm air coming up from the South to push the low pressures northwards. This has failed to happen in recent years, resulting in shite weather all year round. Unfortunately this is the future. Couple this with the other industrial, social, financial and immigration problems of living here, and I say its time to emmigrate. What pride can you take in living here anymore? Sorry to rant, but the weather always sends me off on one and I feel better already!!
  19. Sounds like the lead to the water temperature sender is intermittent. May need to be resoldered to a new spade connector or even checked/re-wired right back to the ECU. Water shouldn't have found it's way into the ECU, but it might be worth having a look. Maybe you could borrow a Conzult and see what the indicated temperature is when the problem shows up. I'd lend you mine, but someone else has already borrowed it!
  20. It's on your tyres bud. Sorry couldn't resist that!
  21. Well it makes me feel a bit better after seeing the wind carry a wheelie bin into my zed tonight. FFS I hate this fooking climate, you don't expect this sh1t in summer grrrr.
  22. I was in Southport yesterday. What the hell happened to the Cyclone and Traumatizer? It's like a regular fair there now:(
  23. I can vouch for the zip gun Steve. It's saved me loads of time on the Vette - thanks. How did you get on Dewi?
  24. POR 15 is the best paint for chassis coating. It absorbs moisure:- http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8202&frostProductName=POR15%20Chassis%20Coat%20Black%20(473ml) It's £20 a tin though:(
  25. Surely aiming your car at a big rock or tree is precicely what you don't want to do, unless it's the choice between that or a cliff edge!
