Please sign and share widely
Hi everyone, not been on here for a long long time, hope you're all okay. I'd be really grateful if you could sign and share this petition for a friend of mine. It's about changing the law for hit-and-run drivers. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/make-it-mandatory-for-a-vehicle-s-keeper-to-name-the-driver-after-an-rtc-where-the-driver-has-fled Thanks guys, Dave

Aftermarket front bumper
Bought this about 9 years ago from my brother (Shaunmac), but never got round to fitting it. Not sure if it's a Scarab or not. It's been in my garage for a long time, but has held up very well. It has been re-primed. £80 + postage or collection.

Aftermarket 16" Liso wheels
16" Liso alloys. They looked quite nice on my zed, so a nice alternative to stock. Ideally two need refurbishing as the paint has peeled at the edges. I was going to get them done (hence one of the Bridgestone Potenzas has been removed,) but I've just got too much on these days. I'll be heading up to Edinburgh on Thursday, so I could meet on the way. £70 or make me an offer. Cheers, Dave

Aftermarket front bumper for sale
Hi, I replaced my Scarab bumper with a stock one. It might actually be a Wings West. I am looking for £140 ovno. I'd prefer collection, or alternatively I'm driving from N.Wales to Edinburgh on Thursday, so I could meet along that route. It still requires painting as you can see from the picture above. Cheers, Dave

I need some advice regarding work
Thanks guys for all your positive comments. I finally got the re-grade, but unfortunately they gave Captain Bullshit a double promotion after he appealed! I've never seen anything like this in my life to be honest. Cheers, Dave

I need some advice regarding work
Thanks guys. I've taken your advice and today I happened to meet up with a senior member of staff. I told him about the fact that I wasn't happy with my current grade and that I was applying internally for a higher-graded post in another department, which is true. Within an hour the same guy leaked some emails to me that had been exchanged between all senior academics within 58 minutes! They were stating that their research programmes wouldn't be able to continue if I left. The good news is that they're now looking at fast-tracking my promotion! I'm made up with this to say the least. I really appreciate all your comments - I almost lost it in work, but you guys saved me and the outcome looks so much better now. If I ever meet you all in person I will be buying! Cheers, Dave

I need some advice regarding work
Thank you all for your good advice. It sounds like we all go through this sh*t at some time or other. I've had it in most jobs to be honest. I would have been in a perfect position to let him sink this week, but unfortunately the ever-lucky fooker booked 2 weeks off and will conveniently avoid the difficult job which he is incapable of doing - grrr. Interestingly the job he claimed to do (managing 9 people) is being done by a union representative, so I'm sure he wouldn't be too impressed if the cat were to be let out of the bag by someone else for example!

I need some advice regarding work
Hi All, I'm in a bit of a situation in work. Basically my so-called workmate who is 13 years my junior and hasn't done a decent days' work in his life has just been regraded to the same grade as myself. The reason he got the promotion was through claiming to do half of my job on his regrade form. My managers didn't read the form properly before it went to HR and even they looked shocked when I told them he'd got it. He's claimed to be managing 9 people when he manages no one. He also stated that he uses the workshops and wears PPE - he doesn't do either - not ever. He stated that he sets up eye-trackers - he wouldn't know how to switch one on! As if that wasn't bad enough, the sneeky sh*t applied for a grade above me and HR have been saying that he's close in points to getting it in his appeal - yes he even appealed the fact that he didn't get a double-promotion. The reason I'm so pissed is that he's incompetent (I've carried him for 10 years), he's lazy and he's a major (verging on a bully) distraction to everyone because he runs his big gob constantly. I previously worked with his dad in the local hospital and he was just the same (lucky me eh?) I have to look after all the electronics and design complex stuff for research each day and look after all the IT stuff in our building. This guy can only install Windows and order machines - that's it. The whole set up sucks and it's a University FFS. This guy has virtually no qualifications and I'm doing an Open University degree part time and have already got an HND back in 1993. The way I see it I've got three options:- 1. Report it to my union or HR themselves, but that might fall of deaf ears because my dumb-assed managers signed it off as being truthful beforehand. 2. Try to resolve it with my managers (otherwise they might get into trouble too and shaft me over!) 3. Walk out and tell them to stick their job on principle and let their whole research programme go to sh*t! I hope someone can give me a bit of advice because I'm struggling to face up to this crap to be honest. Cheers, Dave

Paypal/Ebay fiasco advice please
Hi. I spoke to Paypal today and they are now making him post it back at last! I think I'm going to delete my 10-year old Ebay/Paypal account and use Amazon etc. from now on. Thanks for all your help everyone, it's much appreciated.

Paypal/Ebay fiasco advice please
It's particularly annoying because at first he wanted a refund before mailing the phone back to me. I refused and went through Paypal. I made sure I clicked the 'refund upon confirmed return,' not the 'refund without return' option. Somehow he seems to have gotten away with it through their incompetence. As a buyer I once bought what I thought was a genuine SD card, but it didn't work and was a fake Kingston one. Paypal forced me to return it recorded delivery, which I did but the postman didn't electronically log it at the other end. I even faxed a copy of the recipient's signature, which I eventually got from Royal Snail, but still I never got refunded. It was only about £10 and they made me jump through so many hoops for nothing, yet this tw@t gets away with a £260 iPhone 5. It takes the piss. Cheers, Dave

Paypal/Ebay fiasco advice please
Hi, Yeah - I phoned up last night and explained the situation - thanks for the number. The girl on the phone went away for about 20 mins and said that she'd have to have a manager look into the case. I'm supposed to hear back later today via email. I'm not too hopeful though. Thanks for asking, Dave

That's unbelievable mate, the gall of it. I wonder if he'll regret it when he's on his death-bed? Probably not.

Paypal/Ebay fiasco advice please
Hi all. Not been on here for a while. Hope you're all keeping well. I'm after a bit of advice regarding a recent ebay transaction. Basically I sold my friend's iPhone 5 on ebay and the seller complained that the item had a mark on it and therefore didn't want it. I agreed to offer a full refund, but only once the item reached me (done via Paypal's menus). After a long wait and numerous reminders, Paypal in their infinite wisdom, decided to give him a full refund without him ever having to return it, so he's still got the iPhone and my £270. Can buyers get iPhones for free like this or am I being shafted some other way i.e. by Paypal themselves! I've filed an appeal and the only options are "Provide tracking information" and "buyer has been refunded once already." I'm lost on this one and it's Christmas FFS. I have provided tracking information, but that is for the original shipping of the iPhone?? Thanks in advance for any help or advice, Dave

Early SORN declaration - can I still drive it?
Thanks for all your advice. I need to use it a couple of times, so I'll just remember to SORN it before the last day of this month! Cheers, Dave

Early SORN declaration - can I still drive it?
Hi everyone. My tax expires at the end of this month, but it is possible to declare a SORN after the 5th. It's still MOT'd and insured, but I'm worried that I can't drive it the minute I SORN it. Is this true or will the SORN just 'kick in' at the end of the month? The only reason I want to do this early is so I don't forget at the end of the month and end up giving the government an £80 gift! Cheers, Dave

Can anyone fix TVs?
It's usually either the very large reservoir capacitor (after the mains rectifier) or the smaller ones on the DC output side of the switched-mode PSU in my experience.
