actually, thinking about it, im sure there'll be a list on a computer somewhere that gives what other vehicles are fitted with mounts of that size? cant hurt to look.

nice one andy. and i'll bet that smaller ones are available for things like V6 sierras, etc? i'll be going up the motor factors tomorrow and having a dig through some specs to see if there's a better match. if not i'll be ordering my F150 mounts. lol

see my point? at that price im as well off using the ones off my manual on the auto and getting these for the manual (manual ones were only done just before i had it). it just annoys me that someone not connected with nissan can develop and make a better (well stronger) mount and then sell them at just over 1/3rd of the cost. i wouldnt mind paying the £242 if it was worth it but its just not.

thats a fair point and i dont expect parts to be cheap... if they're car specific. things like panels, engine bits, etc i'd expect to be through the roof but im presuming these mounts are fairly universal between models? they look VERY similar to patrol mounts and every other cheapo engine mount in the world. there's just nothing there to justify the price as with a lot of Z parts. rubber bung with a bolt in each end. no special metals, designs, etc - nothing. if it was the actual mount i wanted i could understand it as its going to be a casting they wont use very often but the rubber bits are just cheap, mass produced tat TBH. what i really hate is that i'll be selling one Z anyway but at this rate i'll be selling the other just down to the costs vs what you get. i dont mind the 15mpg (or less) and i dont mind it eating tyres all the time at £200/pair but i do mind having to pay over the odds for things. even ford transit mounts look similar.

you see this is the sort of thing thats making me want to sell up. the cars great apart from the prices for everything and anything at all. even bits that are the same as other cars are stupidly overpriced. its not like they're harder to make or made better or from better materials. just a total rip off for everything. if i was paying for quality i'd be ok with it but i dont see OE nissan stuff in that good a light as to pay more than better made stuff. ok, rant over. now... who's got some cheap 2nd hand mounts? ;o)

hi all. im after a pair of mounts in the midlands if possible. im in wolverhampton. can travel anywhere but suggestions as to cheapest/closest would be nice. im only after stock as its a car that will stay almost standard and wont need uprated/etc. call/text 07930 168 603 if you've got any (got the old ones but they're dead). could do a exchange on some other bits if i have them. cheers. si.

dont see how blow by will make nearly half a bar difference? i thought the tubs would just spin faster to get the right pressure? sounds like BC spring pressure or something else wrong to me. even on stock turbo's and 2 cracked pistons i still got 1.3-bar (engine was dead so i didnt care).

the silly cost of absolutely any work on it. it seems that even if its something simple and straight forward people see these cars and rub their mitts. im thinking of just selling all mine off now for this reason. i was going to do this and that but i cant now my back's had it and no one seems like they're going to do the work for reasonable money so i think its finally time i sell them off. :o(

the clue's in the name. headgaskets, water pumps, cv's, etc etc etc. only if its very cheap.

if the cops by you are always on the look out dont bother but if they're reasonable they wont usually bother you unless its hard to read, etc. i think they look nice (on certain cars - not on suxo's, etc) and the plod by us is ok with them by the looks of things as there's a few going about. stick some pics up if you do. i might do them on mine if they look nice.

back pressure wont help on a turbo engine. as andy mentioned you can use the exhaust to counter the imbalance or pulses or gas as the exhaust ports open and shut and if you're really good you can get them to help scavenge from the inlet side better too. on a turbo engine this will have mostly no effect after the turbo (but good manifolds help spool up) and the loss of flow outweighs the gain. also as andy said, its so complex that you'd need at least 5 degrees in quantum physics to start and get a gain which will only usually be of benefit in a certain set of rpm ranges (the resonance changes with pitch of pulses so if you set the exhaust to work well at 2,000 and 4,000 it will usually work well at 8,000 and 16,000, etc). the only other thing is if you're running stock turbo's. no back pressure then will mean seal failure sooner in most cases.

dont know how much it costs but how about the TVR stuff? im sure they used to (still?) do a fair old range of colours?

taken mate. i can see why you can take that the wrong way but it happens. so does the local bunch of white s#it that comes bowling out the pub pi55ed on a weekend night annoying everyone but some of us (the neighbours, etc locally) got sick of it and started having a word. i dont care if someone's black, white, opaque, etc. if they're out causing they should be neutered or something equally as nasty. i accept that this type of scum gives people like me a bad name and i've been called a yob, etc on a few occasions but im not (white guy, well built, short hair-must be hitler). the difference is that rather than shout racist at the people calling it (not white's by me!) i go to the people causing trouble (and some of them dont know they are untill you tell them) and explain they are causing a problem. when they say "whats it got to do with you" (and there's always an answear like that) i explain to them it actually has a lot to do with me as im getting stereotyped by their actions so knock it off or i'll take it further (police, etc). if everyone thought like that im sure there wouldnt be half the probs there are. the big problem at the moment is that everyone is scared of being called racist. this stops them doing anything about the actual problems going on.

how i see it is (and its just my opinion); america is open to all. its one of the most multi-cultural places on earth- but if a group of people (KKK, mobs, etc) start to play up they jump on them and any of the people from that same group that protect them. why is that not the same here? dont like to say muslim incase i get called racist but is it not members of that community (and it IS their own community now - they have seperate schools, shops, etc) that are time and time again threatening the security of the country? the biggest problem i have with that particular section is they all go on how they dont agree with it but when it comes to it they are protecting the very people who are doing these things. if a church called in all its members and started training them to kill people from other faiths just because they weren't christians (i take it im allowed to say that and not be called racist?) how long would it be before it was stopped? hours? days? CERTAINLY NOT 5 years and counting? then imagine if they tried it in pakistan, croatia, etc etc which is muslim controlled? they'd be killed in a day and that would be it. i think anyone even connected with these extremists should be deported as a minimum (thats just national security, NOT racism) and the people who are caught plotting to kill people, blow things up, etc should be hung or at least never come out of jail. why should they? all of you think for a minute of who you love. kids, parents, etc etc. if one of these murderers was to chop off their head and show you it on the 'net would you want to put up with it? not sure but the auto-manual are different so i'd guess no. you may be able to run the tt one on the NA (less things for it to do) as the auto will run a manual ok but not the other way round (works to a point but its poo). si.

i can see what you mean but i think thats missing the point of what he was trying to say. its just picking up on non political correctness when that wasn't his point in the first place. if he was having a go at foreigners for the sake of it i can see your point but i think it was obvious thats not the way he meant it. what im saying is all i see lately is people (usually ethnic minorities) picking up on anything they can (how things are worded, things people say taken in the wrong context) and throwing it at them. its as if him saying that in that way is more of an issue than the guy who was going to get his head chopped off live on the web?

sorry but i dont see why you have to apologise? if 8 white guys had tried to abduct, torture and kill an person of an ethnic minority it would be called racist and we'd be forced to do something about it. can we not call it racist when the boots on the other foot? i think its pretty racist to try to kill someone for being white. a lot more racist than someone getting annoyed over it. if it was members of the white community the minority's (cant think of a better word as you cant say what someone is these days - unless they happen to be a white honkey) would kick up a fuss and the white community would have to do something about it. the problem i have is that while these so-called peace-loving people claim they dont want trouble, etc they are harbouring people like this in their community (no one can try to tell me no-one knew. they claim its in the name of religion and were going to show his execution on an extremist website FFS!). in ANY of the countries these people origionate from, if white people went there and tried things like this, they wouldnt last 10 secs before (racist or not) the indiginous(spelling?) people would either kill them all or kick them out of the country. what im saying is that if their people are putting our people in danger (and they are, regularly) then THEIR community needs to sort it out. if they are unwilling to do this then how can they claim the want to live peacefully? sorry if that sounds racist but its not. if the KKK wanted to start causing trouble in the UK we'd get them sorted so why not everyone else?
