Compression should tell you whats worn, if you have low compression then add a drop of oil in the cylinder and the compression rises then its rings, if the compression stays the same then it will be a valve of some sort.

Take the new engine without a doubt..... If your 100% sure the works been done then its well worth it in my eyes.

I got driftworks ones in the rear and omg were they tight... i think they are a slight oversize so makes the arms solid no extra noise though. But much much firmer.

Starting to think i should just call it a day and scrap it. Is it really worth the hassle.

I have spoken to the Third Party Insurers again today, they are still disputing liability (unsure why, as they will not advise of their alergations). Jo has sent your estimate and witness statement to them which TPI should be reviewing. At this stage there is nothing else we can do but wait for TPI to finish their investigations. That would give you more compression, nice:D well some sacrifices have to be made though. If he wants a reliable car as a daily drive then he has to think of the safest way to run bigger turbos at higher boost. While the engine is out its well worth replacing the hg with a new one or potentialy a slightly thicker cometic one or a cometic one at the same thickness bearing in mind how much the head is skimmed. Oh and why not meth injection too :D wohoooo

when i said bottom end i meant low down power not the engine crank, bearings etc, and im talking about 0.006 thou thicker not 1mm, its not a shed load. If he wants to run at 20psi on stock compression fine. Let me re phrase myself not only slightly thicker but a stronger cometic gasket. At least he can do this as he's nt rebuilding the internals on the engine.

Yeah but you cant run more boost safely with standard compression and risk blowing the hg, he did mention reliability!!! a slightly thicker hg wont make a noticable difference to bottom end it will also reduce det, but i suppose they are only jwt530's so its not that much more then.

Thicker HG would be a good idea if ya running bigger and more boost. ported polished heads for inreased flow.
