Thought I would get a quote for car insurance from adrain flux yesterday. Would you believe the quote is £5115.72 OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! Im 24 (25 in 4months) with 2 years ncb which is on my bmw and a clean license. Obviously its a second car and minimum miles and a low evaluation. Now I know im young and its an import but my insurance renewal was £950 when I took the car off the road in august 09. Any reason for this high price? Are there any recomended places to try?

Just looking at bonnet vents and bumpers on ebay.com Any pics of this on a zed? Im not sold on the idea of bonnet vents but its different :biggrin: Also is this a Do-luck bumper copy?

Been thinking about this again recently I finally got rough dimensions for the rx7 diffuser from a seller on ebay. It seems like it should fit but the only problem I can think of is how low it will be on the car. Its 8" high but it does have a curve in the diffuser so thats only the bit at the back. The problem is to get it to fit and not scrape the floor it will have to be flush with the underneath of the car. That means the bit at the back will cover part of numberplate. Anyway whats the law on rear numberplates? Do they have to be flat face on or can they be tilted or made smaller? Hope that all makes sense lol!

If I had £500 I would :thumbup1: Its probably the only aftermarket bumper I like and it seems to suit the zed so much better than others.

I was thinking about this the other day but like you say which looks better. Personally I would have them silver as its a lot of hassle just to have them black. I wish I could buy your abflug bumper!

I thought it might be difficult. I just wanted to do something different with my engine bay as I see loads of red and blue. Nothing wrong with that just wanted to be different. I have some intake pipes in chrome already so might go down that route instead. Do you have all the hose selections you mentioned ready? Or do you have to order them in specially? I only want to know as I will try and time it with my car being back on the road in march. Also do you sell the silicone couplers for the air intake seperate? I bought mine from ebay and it only came with three! Just had an email from sumopower for the do-luck hose set. £110+vat+postage and I cant even use half of them lol!

Need some more help and advice lol! One more thing on my list of parts I want to buy for my zed is new hoses. Now for some reason im liking the idea of having the signature purple Do-Luck hoses. Am I right in thinking only the one hose fits from a twin turbo? You can get just standard hoses 3m or 4m in purple for water etc so thats all right. I had a look on smithys place to see if you can get a matching brake booster hoses but there not available in purple. Is there any where else I can try? Or should I just pick a different colour to make it easy lol!

Don't want to hijack your thread m8. I have looked into buying a few bits from Z1 but have always wandered if there are any import or tax duties to pay when they arrive in england. Have you ever had this?

Cheers for the offer but I bought the veilside wing I wanted off OldZed. Im about to start removing the wing, seats, mirrors etc soon in a complete overhaul:) You make it sound easy j1mmytt lol! Might be worth considering making my own possibly.

Very true m8 I suppose it just comes down to me and my opinion as it is my car. After owning my zed for a year I finally thought sod it im buying a veilside spoiler even though there not popular. Thanks again for that :thumbup: I actually got the idea for the diffuser after seeing the pentroof zed in an old jap performance magazine. I wish I owned it lol! Small world Munny :) Thats the diffuser im looking at getting. After reading your old thread seems like it will probably be the best thing to buy. I have a veilside c2 rear lip so fitting should be similar. Cheers :duffer:

This has probably been discussed many times before but are there any rear diffusers or undertrays made for the zed? I found a universal diffuser which will probably fit with not a lot problems but is it worth it. Im not going for more downforce or improving track capability just the look. I like the look of the rx7 diffuser and apparently it can fit other cars but has anyone ever tried it? The problem im having is buy it and it looks great! Or it doesn't fit and I have waisted £150! Or it looks horrible and everyone says what the hell is that lol! The universal one is okay but im wandering if it will be lost on the back of my zed and not very noticeable. Any advice welcome Could someone be very kind and photoshop a rx7 diffuser to a zed?

Cheers for the emissions info My cat sensor light did use to come on occasionally but this was always early morning starts in winter. I suppose a car like this deserves a nice interior and not a bodged one. Will have to take the tweed off and make good job of it. My car is a non turbo jap so I will probably decat it now Thanks

Good advice :duffer: Will it definately pass an mot with a decat? Thats one of the main reasons I haven't bothered before and I don't mind removing the cat sensors as mine plays up anyway. If I was to do the interior panels myself can you simply wrap the fabric around the old panels? Without removing the tweed. This sounds a better idea if all you get is pre cut panels and you have to order from the USA.

If I was to buy a decat what would it do to the fuel economy? Can you attach the lamba sensor back on? Is it that simple?

Dougal200 can you pm me if you do sell them. I don't think I have ever seen a cream set leather seats before in a Z. Was it an option from new? Would be interested as you are close. Didn't think of putting a wanted ad up :rofl: Good idea Pablito. Will do it now as you never know someone may want rid of a set nearby. Was £60 for the full set? Absolute bargain of the year :)
