Pod challenge set vg30dett vs ls3
I can't remember from memory but VPower is the highest octane rated fuel at the pump or the same as Tesco 99. It's either 100 ron or 99, can't remember. The higher the octane the more power your car will produce. This is why the myth came about Import cars are faster and have more power, well yes in japan they will do as japan fuel has a much higher octane rating than we do in the UK and ours is higher than in the US. VPower also has better additives than Tesco 99 which is the next best fuel which help to keep the engine clean. I wouldn't bother with slicks, your car might be put in a different class, non road legal class. if you have semi slicks for road then you should be ok, but like you say it's a excuse if you win he can use.

Pod challenge set vg30dett vs ls3
Another one just popped to mind... If you have coilovers set them to a stiffer setting your car will not bog down and much and you will get off the line quicker. You have to also to take in to consideration although the VXR8 has faster posted figures it requires a better driver to get a better time In a more powerful car, because if you have a car which when you drop the clutch and does not spin the wheels on the line it's allot easier to get your best time the car is capable of but if you have a big V8 with lots more power and torque the wheels will spin and it will take a better driver to get the most out of the car. Don't think i can think of any more, i'm pretty much all out now.

Pod challenge set vg30dett vs ls3
One other thing.... couple fuel stops before you run fill it with Shell Vpower to ensure you have a tank with only Vpower, when your at pod, don't have a full tank. have enough for you to run and get to a station after. You can even fill a Jerry can and leave with a friend if you need extra fuel to get to a station after you have ran.

Pod challenge set vg30dett vs ls3
and... If pod is your first time... It may be worth both having a practice run first, but not go all out as you don't want him to see your best time. This will help you lots as your first time might be nervous with all the people watching. Then your second run, the nervs will have settled. Good luck....!!!! :D JDM for the win!

Pod challenge set vg30dett vs ls3
Strip your interior for pod, but be careful it's not too tale end light as you might not be able to put the power down but saying that the strip is all sticky and if you do the little spin in the sticky patch that helps also. Good luck!! I have recently been in the same boat. Someone was telling me how he would beat me someone else overheard and before you know it we have to race at pod to settle it. V8 Supercharged Toyota Soarer, i think it's a TRD modified one with a few extra mods. You could shoot a shot of nos down it but expensive layout and to keep topping up. You could get a boost controller or the boost jet mod to raise the boost a little. Oh yes and remember to let lots of air out of your rear tyres, not too much but a fair amount. this did help my time, it allowed me to launch the car at higher rpm without the tyres spinning as much and the tyre walls twist which takes some of the danger away of damaging other parts. I also i have methanol injection kit for sale, which would help, run more boost safely and higher octane. Also if you have bigger wheels, change back to the stock ones if they are lighter or smaller. They also say at pod, when the lights go orange you go, by your reaction time it's green before you blink, go on orange :P We need to see the video ;)

Insurance for modified cars and with track coverage
Help.... :D My Insurance is due very soon. I know insurance is always talked about but... I need a slightly different and more specialised insurance which i don't know where to start. I am currently with Adrian Flux but they wont cover me on track. So i need the usual Insurance for on the road for my car but an insurance company that also covers on the track, i know there are several out there but not sure who they are, they also need to cover modifications to the car. It's a UK car so doesnt need to be an import specialist.

400+ bhp please
Just saw this post. I have allot of high end parts for sale which will easily take you to 500bhp. You could run it at 500 bhp reliably and have scope for more power if needed. However at 500bhp you may need extra supporting mods like clutch etc. have a look here. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=144116

800BHP any truth you think?
Hi Johnnytsang As Bob mentioned. i have for sale allot of high end gear which will make and support 800bhp. You will then have the choice if you want to max it out or run it at less power. I have a comprehensive list of parts. Allot of prep work already done i.e. block has been machined and preped, heads are polished and ported. Just needs assembling. Which is a good thing as you will have a new engine and you will know the exact spec depending who built it you may have a warranty. As where buying a Zed already claiming to have X amount of bhp, you don't know the ins and outs could been a second hand engine dropped in, could be mistakes, might not even be the spec it's claiming, too much risk involved. have a look here. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=144116

My parts for sale.
Also to apoligise to everyone else. Reason why i took this personally is because i worked my ass off to buy these parts, i've got nothing to hide and allot of it was on finance. I know what i paid, i know the loss i'm making. As mentioned above i'm far from wealthy and it has took a massive blow to my pocket and is very dis-heartning having to sell my parts and especially for the loss I am making on these parts compared to what i paid for them. It's not just here either. Getting it on another forum. My wheels for example. Getting comment like, you can buy them for £1000 used so think you are asking too much. Well i paid over £3000 all brand new never driven on. So how is £2000 too much? I'm taking a loss of £1000 and that was from when i bought them, it would cost you allot more to buy them now than when i did. Am i missing something here?

My parts for sale.
Sorry about this but i've had this several times now. And is starting to get frustrating. I don't want anyone to think i'm a arse or anything but i think it's unfair and need to clarify a few things. My parts for sale, They are some of the best parts around money can buy. I'm far from wealthy i saved my ass off to buy these parts and made sacrifices etc. Cheaper version of my parts Yes no doubt you can buy cheaper versions of my parts but these are made by different people and wouldnt be to the same quality. If you want to buy a cheaper copy then good luck to you. But when and if they fail the cost would way out way the price difference. Good examples: Actually i can think of two good examples of cheap parts and why not to skimp. Ebay Turbo: Someone i know bought one, it made rubbish power and made the car undrivable then the turbo failed and ended up causing major damage to the engine. Cheap Wheels: You can get cheap copys of wheels, i wasnt out this night but couple weekends ago some guy was running cheap copys of a qualty brand and the outside part of the rim ripped apart from the inside spoke part of the rim. Cheap respray/engine build: I've had both, learnt the hard way both times. Had the car resprayed a second time as it was pants after a couple of months first time round. As for the engine i had to scrap the built engine i had built first time around and start again as i tried to get it built on the cheap. That's before it went to Thor and why it went to Thor which turned out nasty anyway. It's like everything. Even clothes you can get good quality or rubbbish quality. Wash once fadded or 100 washes still the same. Sorry to everyone else, but i've had several people now saying well why would i buy your product for X amount when i can buy this for such n such. Well it's a completely different product made by a completely different person. Noway the same quality. If you want to risk it and get the cheap copy then go for it and good luck. If not then i have my parts here which are high end parts. Which believe me are at a fraction of the price it would cost you to buy the parts i actually have. Also not forgetten how pants the pound is at the moment so parts are costing even more meaning my parts are better value in a way. That's the cheap copys. As for parts like my exhaust system where you can get half decent systems for less. This is the best of the best, if you don't want that level of quality then that's fair enough, there are cheaper systems out there and if that's what your after then go buy it. Would anyone walk into a shop and pick up some designer clothing walk over to the counter and say i can get exact the same as this well pretty close from primark. You wouldnt do it. It's exact the same. So why compare my stuff to other cheaper brands when it's not the same thing? It's not fair and makes me look like i'm ripping people off when believe me i'm not as the money i paid for my gear is far more than i'm advertising it for and most parts are brand new. I'm a half decent guy and would hate to think someone thought i am ripping people off as i'm not. I'm shocked really to be honest. Can't believe people would compare a product to another of less quality and say it's cheaper, if so and your happy with the cheaper alternative then go buy it. It's not the same as the other item so why compare it??? Sorry about this moan, but i'm really frustrated as it's happened several times now, and i feel really annoyed that it's been hinted i'm ripping people off. What the old saying. Buy cheap buy twice. Ok that doesnt apply for all my parts. but it goes for the pulley. Ebay copies? good luck to you. parts like the exhaust system you can get good products for less but it's still not the same quality but good enough. But my exhaust system is one of the best. If you want the best products which some people do then you pay for it. Can't believe i'm even here justifying my parts, if you want cheap crap off ebay then go buy it. Look at my parts as a way to have some of the best gear for around the same price of parts of lesser quality. Rant Over. For now :whistling:
