  1. Thought I would drag this old chutney up again as I was sent a different sensor fitted with a boss (Thanks Paul) to replace the other one. Anyway I fitted it this morning, which took a bit of time as I managed to break the stock rad pipe and it took some fiddling to get a good seal. I let the car warm up for about 30 minutes as I wanted to check that the seals on the pipes were OK, after waiting for a while and tightening some of the jubilee clips whilst warm I though I would go for a drive to check everything out. Before I replaced the top rad pipe with the new sender I was getting temp readings of 210F. This time on the same run the temp gauge stayed at around 84c and didn't climb much more under heavy driving. I parked up and checked the temp on idle it is was 79c so I am fairly happy. The moral of this story is to use the right sender as they don't all work with any gauge. Been a bit of a mare this but thanks to Paul for buying another gauge with the sender that I needed and sorting out another pipe for me. Will post the other one back mate. All good fun Chris P
  2. Got to remove all the aftermarket stainless steel slam panels first though

  7. And can you get this paint from Harry's?
  8. Thats what I thought mate .. did check these pages out TBH but wanted to get some clarification from somebody else before I bought the paint. Can anyone else confirm?
  9. I need to respray my front panel and I need to match the paint as close as I can obviously. I have a 1993 model but I am unsure which paint code is correct. Is it Aztec red AG2 or Ultra red AJ4? How do I find out for sure as I think after september 93 it was Ultra red and before that Aztec red. And where can I get the paint? Had a quick look in a smaller halfords store but to no joy. If anyone can help that would be rather grand as I want to get it done tomorrow. Thanks as always. Chris P

  15. I haven't had many dealings with the police TBH. They did catch me doing 130 mph on the M40 about 1 year ago and all they did was give me a warning, so I guess I was very very lucky. Wasn't even in my Zed then!! So, some are good and some are complete jobsworths ... all depends on their mood at the time.
  16. Thats the one .. I had to do this and I found it a complete PITA.
  17. This will help as well. Read through it and you will see in detail how to get to it and the retaining clips to remove the bulb. http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/lowbeam/lowbeam.htm
  18. Which bulbs do you need to change? Headlights or fogs I mean. I guess you mean headlights.
  19. hacked for sure ...
  20. LOL .. That happened to me as well. Luckily a mate was standing by the car at the time and switched the seat off before I got crushed to buggery in the footwell.
  21. I am really not electrically minded I'm afraid. It could be a loose wire causing a short somewhere. I had this problem with my lights circuit after some idiot ran wires across the exhausts for the rear repeaters. I did hear something about the lights circuit can be mistaken for an earth wire as it is the same colour but not sure if that is even relevant. Sorry couldn't be of more help. Sure someone will be able to offer a better suggestion though. Good Luck. Chris P
