I used to have red stuff pads and I must admit they are absolutely crap. They are OK once warmed up but until then they are toss. I can't remember how much I paid for mine but whatever it was it was too much. I don't know if they are any good on standard discs but even on grooved discs they were shit. Porterfield pads are very good. HTH Chris

If he has a members area it would more than likely be using a database to keep track of members, I have completed many members areas of websites and there is always an admin facility so you can view who has joined etc ...

I have worked with some very good hardcore programmers, very talented people. Perl was all the rage back in the early 90's because there wasn't really anything else available for the web. PHP changed everything. It is easy to learn the basics, even I can write basic PHP and I am a designer (I just do colouring in) :-) Once you have learned the basic syntax which is easy, the hard part is to put what you have learned into real world applications, that is why people give up with it. There are loads of books around to help, and they give real world application examples so you can build up your knowledge better.

bats are very cool creatures .. I love them .. my last house had bats and they were fantastic to watch at night. I'm afraid you are stuck with them .. Try not to disturb them to much. I'm sure you will get along fine after a while :-)
