Separating the Men from the Boys!
I am happy to redesign a logo for the club and to redesign the site. The club IMHO needs to create a on-line community. The forum is great and very useful but I think it should be a part of the site .. not the main focus of the site. There are other important areas that could be developed. Chatroom ... 300zx own chatroom Private members area Technical section Newsletter section On-line newsletters (via email) Rides section Competitions ... (Traders could maybe put up prizes) Subscribe online area Payment For tickets Regular homepage updates (weekly) News items Basically whatever people want the site to be ... Anyways ... The cost for my services would be nominal (maybe no annual subscription ever) considering a daily rate of £lots I don't think that is too bad a deal. Timewise ... could be 100hrs + cannot say at this point. That's about it .... but judging from the input from members I think that a lot of people would like to see some changes. Up 2 you guys ....

Proactive for a change
Sorry for the late reply ... Have been so busy been ridiculous. OK ... I am offering to design the club a new logo if the members want one and also a brand new look and feel website that gives the club a whole revamp. If the members would like a brand new website then a discussion should take place to see what members and the committee would like to see on the site. I can go on from there. Like I said before, I have the experience to design a quality website and have been a designer for over 9 years. I work with large corporates that have 10,000+ pages to their site to smaller ME's. I have a lot of branding experience as well as print and new media. Anyways .... If a new site look and feel is wanted then I am offering to help .. if it isn't, then that is cool as well. On a personal note, I think the website should be the main focus, not the Forum .. the forum should obviously be a part of the main website. There are a lot of things that could be part of the architecture of the website. There could be a monthly magazine, regular weekly updates to the homepage, news section, members only section, chatroom, technical area, the list goes on and on ... Whatever people want. Cheers Chris

Sex Education -
This is an actual extract from a sex education school textbook for girls, printed in the early 60's in the UK, & written by a woman! "When retiring to the bedroom, prepare yourself for bed as promptly as possible. Whilst feminine hygiene is of the utmost importance, your tired husband does not want to queue for the bathroom, as he would have to do for his train. But remember to look your best when going to bed. Try to achieve a look that is welcoming without being obvious. If you need to apply face-cream or hair-rollers wait until he is asleep as this can be shocking to a man last thing at night. When it comes to the possibility of intimate relations with your husband it is important to remember your marriage vows and in particular your commitment to obey him. If he feels that he needs to sleep immediately then so be it. In all things be led by your husband's wishes; do not pressure him in any way to stimulate intimacy. Should your husband suggest congress then agree humbly all the while being mindful that a man's satisfaction is more important than a woman's. When he reaches his moment of fulfilment a small moan from yourself is encouraging to him and quite sufficient to indicate any enjoyment that you may have had. Should your husband suggest any of the more unusual practices be obedient and uncomplaining but register any reluctance by remaining silent. It is likely that your husband will then fall promptly asleep so adjust your clothing, freshen up and apply your night time face and hair care products. You may then set the alarm so that you can arise shortly before him in the morning. This will enable you to have his morning cup of tea ready when he awakes."

Proactive for a change
Mark .. I am quite happy to redesign whatever you require. I would be more than pleased to liase with you to redesign the whole site and create a logo for you. My recommendation as a designer would be to redesign the site as a whole. That would be the way forward. I can send you lots of links of sites and identities that I have created for large Corporates and SME's ... Just let me know Chris

Proactive for a change
I would be happy to help to design a new club logo, however it should be noted that within an identity it is normally the logo that is designed first. The rest of the identity fits in with the colours used so from an aesthetic point of view everything blends in and continuity remains throughout. I would therefore give serious consideration into redesigning the site as a whole, not just the logo.

posted by fuelinjection: >>>>>> I like this forum, the members seem great, and it a good collection of z owners and enthusiasts. But cant help feel that people want more. I for one feel there should be a better members section(rides), with specifications and images of each members cars available for others to see, but with a consistant feel about the site, because as the moment the rides section is a folder which the owners creates their own page, and a good site should always keep the same design, so the visitor knows they are still within the 300zx site. I would also like to see more information about the cars themselves.(Ie, see http://www.fuelinjection.co.uk then choose model information and 300zx, see the secifications page). Articles about technical tips & tricks would be nice, ie how to fit mirrors or similar! Maybe some members would like to create articles on there project, so others can follow the progress of modifications and the creating of a beast! There could also be parts of the website which are only accessible to paying members only. This will make people think they are paying for something worthwhile. These are my views as a new member of the board.

Proactive for a change
Didn't realise ... I don't really care who does it as long as someone does and it happens. I would also suggest that all the ideas that have come up be written down and presented to the committee formally at the next meeting. They can then decide on how to proceed and present a post back to the members on the results of the discussions a bit like a minutes meeting report. That way at least we would know that the comments are being discussed and the reasons why they have or haven't been acted upon.

Stu .. That is exactly what we want. I would suggest that you take up the job of acting on the members behalf and maybe you could be the liason between the members and the Mods etc ... U up 4 that?

Do we need a new club logo?
Yes the club does need a new logo, in fact I would go so far to say that it needs a whole revamp.

Paul ... Hopefully if enough people comment with ideas they will listen. That is the idea of this post. Lets get good ideas then get them discussed by the committee and hopefully acted on.

Proactive for a change
LMAO Stuart :D You know we do! It does need a facelift ... It could be made into a really good Zed community and if the Mods listen to what the members are saying then it could happen. There are a lot of people on here with tech skills, design etc ... All willing to help the site because at the end of the day the site is for the members and their opinions and suggestions should be seriously considered especially when these changes could come about without any serious expenditure from the club funds.

Proactive for a change
Website chatroom. Loads of freeware chat programs available. I use one at work as I am sure lots of others do. That would create a community centred around the site as a whole.

email newsletter would be good as well IMO

Proactive for a change
Nice 1 Andy ... Good ideas. I think the site needs more tech stuff and info. That would draw end users to the site and create a lot of more members. I also think the site should be revamped and turned into a proper website with the Forum as part of that site. This would offer members the opportunity for maybe an online magazine ... This could be easily set up in a private area. It would save the club money as well because it is a damn sight cheaper to publish online magazines than send them out in the post. The site could become a fantastic resource for Zeds and if done correctly it could become very big indeed.

This has been mentioned before . . I think by Tim Setup of some sort of online payment method using either PayPal, Clickbank whatever ... If people don't want to use it then send a cheque instead. This could be used for the subscription requests as well. It is so easy even a chimp could do it (given the proper training). No more nightmares regarding payment and collection.
