  3. Yes thats exactly what it looks like, if you have that its a 100% the cam cover seal, oddly we have seen a few more of the inner seals leaking to now from hardening or from been reused when previous work been done. Jeff TT The half moon seals are not that expensive but inspection is the key, provided they are still soft and pliable should be ok, the issue is not really with them, although they do need checking. 7. Anyone who has driven their zed and had some fun will have most likely not only been rewarded with a thrilling ride but also with that unmistakable odour of burning hot oil, either whilst driving or just after parking up. No really mystery that in most cases it leaking outer cam covers dropping oil from the rear corners onto the turbo`s or manifolds on non turbo`s. So stripping out the relevant parts to get to the pesky covers and re-seal them is fairly straight forward but its is essential to be clean and safe, keep all parts in order and cover all intake holes whilst the plenum is off so nothing can drop in there. The two inner covers have quite chunky rubber seals and new ones of these are readily available from Nissan ( do not use e-bay ones) However for those who do not know the outer covers do not have seals but sit on a bed of sealant, this can be a bit tricky to get right if its your first time doing this job, but even before you even start that ensure all traces of the old sealant are removed and non of it has fallen into the camshaft area, a wipe with brake cleaner or similar to degrease the faces is vital or the sealant will not have a chance. just remember to be CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! Despite Nissan having a specific sealant for this job, high temp silicon sealant is more than capable and works out just fine, so with a bit of care and time you can enjoy the thrill without the pong!! 8. So the countdown to the zedworld "new year" bash is here remember Saturday 5th February open from 10.00 to remind all there will be food and refreshments the whole day, plenty of close parking and plenty of zed chat and a chance to meet other zed owners and look at some serious zed metal! oh and remember to have your pound coins ready for the raffle that all the proceeds go to Great Ormond Street Children's hospital It would be really helpful to get the attendance list started here so we we know how many to cater for etc. add any others coming with you too, so have a safe journey and see you then. 9. As with any car BHP increase from exhaust and filter upgrades are small and often is more of a "feel good" increase rather than a bhp increase. The power hike comes from running the extra boost pressure, the chip side of it is to ensure the mapping works in harmony with the extra boost, that`s why the checks before chipping are so important, however that said an exhaust and induction kit will enhance a chip change. 10. Below are some pics of a couple of clutch options we supply or supply and fit, manuafactured for us in the UK to our own specifications so no import duty and no silly delivery times, all brand new, no remanufactured items here. The first two pictures are of a 25% upgrade item mainly used for mild boost and chip upgrades. The paddle clutch is available in 5 or 6 puck depending upon spec required, The clutch cover features upgrade fingers and steel inserts, the plate has progressive double shock springs which makes this paddle clutch feel almost stock unlike others which end up been like an on/off switch the friction material is stable to very high temps and load and would be fine for your application. Matching lightened flywheels available from UK stock too. Jeff TT
  11. Hi Lee, No problem, will work just fine like the many we have already done, price includes replacement (exchanged )ecu a full Engine health check, compression and leak down test, ConZult, air/boost leak check and running gear check, the pre-check is a vital must do part in our view fitting performance enhancing kit of this type without this is a bad idea. So once all the test are passed ok the conversion is done including pipeworks modifications to achieve more boost, and then ConZult set up again with data logged road testing. Fully warranted £225+vat and expect to get around an extra 60bhp to 70 bhp over standard depending on engine condition etc. the grin factor after having your zed chipped is ace!! cheers Jeff TT
  12. There is a stop point on the plenum for the throttle linkage, on UK cars its a solid block on Jap spec cars it has an adjustable stop. Rather than file the block just bend up the metal tang that hits the stop! however if the throttle opens too wide it may well be past the best position, there was a rumour that Jap spec cars had adjustable ones` so they could limit the thottle wide open amount and hence keep the BHP output under the agreed level in Japan. 13. Interesting how the applications of " ecu chips" well eproms really have evolved for the Z32 over the last decade or so. We ae familiar with the big name ecu tuners from Japan such as Veilside, Central 20, Blitz, and of course John Wolf technology from the US. Along the way we have come across many different lesser names chips in breakers and ecu we are fitting our eproms in, most of which are similar if not the same as each other. Here are a few odd and viirtually unknown ones amongst a couple of known names, like Superchips and DTA. Here is a pile of standard eproms we have removed when fitting improved ones, again the variety of eprom numbers and types are much more than you would think, auto, manual, TT or N/A but series ll are different so are series lll and then we have seen several different ones fitted to convertables, then of course several of our customers are from Europe and again the ecu`s are different, We also have a few customers in the US army over here that have brought their zeds over ( yes really!) whilst stationed here and different again. Of course the country of origin sale will have a bearing on the ecu type and mapping that Nissan fitted but its the aftermarket "chips" that seem to have evolved to a much greater amount than most other cars I know, but of course its just more proof of the z32 popularity and what is essentially the best of the best.:clap: Jeff TT

  15. No need to remove the hub only the disc, knock the studs through and wiggle past the handbrake shoes, pull the new ones through using a wheel nut and spacers washers. Jeff TT
  16. engine bay This seems long time ago!!!
  17. Some more here Inner wheel arch returns
  18. Here you are matey, as you have said the lighting in the bodyshop hinders the camera, in the sun the pearl mica will be stunning. The attention to detail has really impressed me, the blend from steel body to body kit and back to steel body is seamless, the inner wheel arch build is unique in a far as it has full arch returns sealing the kit and rear quarters completely. This is of course pre-build pics, the spoiler, mirrors, bumpers etc. are all to be done as it mopping and polishing so there is much more to come yet!!! Jeff TT
  19. Great news, been using that method for years, no problem not arriving in a Zed a good chance a few others will be too. Jeff TT
  20. Ok here is the pictures for for you, the first shows the timing gun and the sensor from the trigger clamp. In the second one you can see where the sensor need to be placed, in pic three shows the sensor in a slightly different place, it my be trial and error on where best it picks up the signal, seems quite ok almost anywhere near the coil windings, pic four shows how it looks from further back. Good luck Jeff TT
  21. Ok Chris, one thing to remember is and I cannot stress this enough HANDLE WITH CARE!! the strips are super fragile when not fitted to the hatch. Right the clips will not secure it sufficiently as the earlier tailgate does not have quite the same clip layout so an adhesive sealant such as Silkoflex is best used. This helps fix the strip to the hatch but also you need to load some into the areas where it does not touch, this is needed or else when say washing the car and you lean on the strip it will snap. Ok have fun and be super careful. Jeff TT
  22. Ok will sort a pic tomorrow, the Zedworld Bash is a reschedule of the the Christmas party that was cancelled due to the snow. 23. Ok quick tip to save buying another timing gun, the induction one you have should be capable of sensing the coil packs triggering, if the head of the clamp is small enough place it down the back of no1 spark plug and it should work just fine , if however the clamp head is quite large then they normally are screwed together, undo the screws and your left with the induction sensor on the end of the cable, this is now easy to place down the back of no1 coil pack, assuming all working with engine up to temp then 15btdc is what you need to set it at.( will post a photo of this if it helps tomorrow) Jeff TT
  24. Don`t forget the present "new"coalition goverment have not been in power for the past 14 years so blaming them for Labour`s mess is wrong, cannot say I agree with it all but more cuts and higher taxes are needed to get us back on track, just wish they would leave the motorist alone! Jeff TT
