  1. The one at ZUBI looks like the one I saw there about 8-10 months ago (they wanted about 5500 then).

Does it have a broken front spoiler and blacked out windows?

If so, it is. I personally didn't like this car, the engine sounded much rougher/harsher compared to others I looked at. Also the dash looked like it had been removed and not replaced properly despite the fact that it had NOT been converted to MPH when I saw it (I was told it had just arrived and awaiting prep).......

No disrespect to ZUBI intended, but it's just my opinion on this car.

  2. Hi Rich

I have a UK car and have just replaced my cracked rears with a 2nd hand set from AndyZ, which were from a Jap car. There was no difference between them as they fitted fine.

I didn't strip out the boot either, just the small centre section between the two slots. I removed the retaining nuts/bolts from the other pannels near the lights just to give a little movement.

    Whole job took 1-1.5 hours.

  3. Hi Stuart,

I'd like a set on the "first choice" items, the "Z" key-ring wrench is dead smart, let me know how much/how to pay you etc...........

My neighbour had chrome caps on his BMW, which he made himself. They did look quite god/unique until some little sh*t stole 2 of them for his bike. Luckily, though he saw them on a BMX outside a shop a couple of days later. He took them back and smashed all the wheel spokes for good measure.........:D

  4. I remember reading the 300ZX buyers guide in Jap Performance which did say the J-spec headlights were crap compared to UK ones. Why not try replacing lights with UK ones.................?

Failing that, PIAA bulbs are the way to go. They are available from Demon Tweeks in various sizes and give out the same (if not more) light than higher wattage bulbs but only draw 55watts.

The Extreme White range are the best, but are about £70 a pair. I use these in both my cars and they are f'ing good - similar colour/output as HID for a fraction of the cost.

Oh, and they last quite a while too.......:)

  5. I had this problem when I replaced the stock HU on my UK car.

I used the Autoleads ISO to Nissan OEM adaptors. However when you look at the OEM plug there is one wire extra which doesn't correpsond to a wire in the Autoleads kit. This is the live feed to the rear amp. All you need to do is join this to the accessory live (ie electric arial wire) using a scotchlok connector.

Then the rear speakers AND amp can be used.

By the way, does anyone know anything about the arial relay? (eg where is it and where can I get one???)

My arial has never worked properly, even with the stock HU. My mechanic reckons it's the relay as it receives power ok, it doesn't fully extend or retract.

  6. According to Nissan data, ALL Zeds for Europe (manual & auto) have 280bhp.

Jap Aussie & USA spec manuals have 300BHP, while autos have 280, owing to smaller turbos which spool up quicker.

USA petrol is actually worse than ours, their "regular" is only 91RON but their "premium" is 95, the same as our regular.

I don't want to enter the manual vs auto debate, each of us has their preferences but according to a US forum (ttzd I believe) the manual is quicker 0-60 but the auto is supposedly quicker 0-100mph........!! Test anyone???

  7. I agree with the others, there's nothing wrong with the Zed's image. It's all about indivuality - after all Porsches are ten-a-penny today and as for BMs, has anyone NOT seen one driven by a tosser who thinks he owns the road........?

How many Zeds do you see on the road? Exactly!!

I was looking to replace my old Supra (single turbo) with a Porsche 928s4. I had just returned from a test drive in one when I saw a low mileage UK Zed for sale. After driving the Zed I completely forgot about the Porsche and bought the Zed. It's better looking (even in red, as mine is - not my first choice in colour but I get more used to it each day), faster and handles better.

    Nuff said!!:D :D :D :D

  8. Hi Vijay,

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. There were a few other bits I needed (coolant temp sensor/harness and a couple of drive belts) so I ordered the lot from Courtesy anyway. Hopefully I'll get them within the next week.

Treated myself to one of their sunshades as well - might come in handy !!

  9. My series 1 TT has been diagnosed with a dodgy ignition amp.

To make sure I order the correct part, is this also known as the PTU?

Also where's the best place to get one? Courtesy Nissan do them for US$180, but can anyone here (Nissan aside - they are too expensive) supply them quickly & reasonably?

    Thanks!
