  1. in the words of borat "WOWOWweeWA!" Happy B-day! :)
  2. and after bhp/ton i was then going to ask about how much power is lost on delivery through gears, wheels, tyres, etc, etc, etc... the "elementary" explanation - as per usual... :smw:
  3.   elementary!   Question: so does that mean that the more torque and bhp you have the better? :smw: Ok, ok - how about a more serious question, but i'm expecting "as elementary" and answer if you wil... and what about bhp/ton or torque per ton... thought i'd throw mass into the equation to get a more practical, applicable answer...
  4. hypothesis => You are in the minority - an older man with good taste... ;) as for blue - I always liked blue in everything and many cars are just perfect for it - I am thinking if i'm going to drop thousands on a re-spray and cream leather i might go for bmw 3 series dark blue metallic - not the M3 avus, but the darker and deeper colour... what do you think? as to reasons for buying the zed - i am just as rational about it as you... been looking at zeds for 7-8 years - in fact since i sold my first one nearly ten years ago - but didnt take the plunge until prices got this silly - it's simply a lot of good quality car for the money! :smw: still can't believe what a bargain it is i'm driving! :hyper:
  5. that blue car looks awesome! i'm still thinking if it's worth doing a respray of my black zed before summer as i've definitely decided not to go wide... for a while, anyway. If i do decide to go for a respay i'm still thinking if i should go dark blue metallic or black... yours is v nice... but blue has to go with cream leather for me - and that's even more £££'s... have to think about it... Most important of all - this poll was designed to test a hypotesis - that older people prefer red cars, and younger people prefer black cars... and the results seem to confirm this... I was right! :smw: P.S. "Am I wrong?", "No", "Am I wrong?", "NOOO!", "Am I wrong?!", "No, you're not wrong! you're just an asshole!" ;)
  6. don't you mean delusional :wack: ? ok ok i forgot one alternative - you have a red car and prefer red cars, but that just means you have bad taste?
  7. when you say say laquer them - what exactly do you mean? P.S. sorry, but i am not a DIY person :)
  8. We know you all prefer black cars, but have to say red as you own them... and are silly that way, i mean buying things you don't really like - that's why some paint/stick on as much black on their cars in order to make them look "less red" and "more black"... hoping that one day you will be able to complete the famed but never succesfully executed "RED to BLACK trick(in 15 parts)" ;)
  9. Just saw this today, don't know if anyone else has before, but that thing looks and sounds amazing!
  10. my opinion - get an SL. you will lose less on an SL500 in the next 2 years than you will on an SLK, even though the new SL is about to come out... two months after it's out you will be able to get it for £3k-£5k less... I like the hardtop on your SLK - it's a major selling point for me. tbh would prefer s2000 and even more so the boxster - non s even - i like how it drives AND i love how it looks with the hartop on! smoooooth... thing with the slk and boxster - i have a biased perception they are girly cars - maybe it because they have older brothers in the manufacturers line-up (SL and 911), although i must admit i do like the way the boxster drives and even looks but only when with the hardtop. what about that 3.0 z4 - I LIKE! and even better for driving the z3m... oooooooh - nutter of a car. again hardtop availability/targas/hartop convertibles as yours just work for me... but youre right the merc makes a lot of sense as an everyday driver and i love how they make their hardtops... can't really beat a good merc... never been in a 350 actually - must be nice...
  11. ... and will someone in the know please answer the JUMVEA and BIMTA question! are they worth anything or not? I need to know for another car i might be interested in... please?
  12. come on man - i'd rather have an older SL over a newer SLK any day... lots of those cars have low mileage even though you can get 200k out of them no problem and a sl500 is not a racers car - many will have been carefully driven... SL is most complete car in the world... there are better SLK class cars than the SLK itself out there are available for relative peanuts... and again *IN MY OPINION* for all you haters out there ;)
  13. she's a classy zed - that's for sure - smoothed bumpers mmm! who does that? how long and how much?
  14. forgot to ask you Si, what's the specs of your car... as i think if it's leather, airbag wheel, navan auto, 94-96, 50-80k mileage i saw a similar one on sale by a trader for 6.5k when i was looking for mine. i think your looks very nice indeed, especially with those bbs alloys (they are the nissan ones, right?). if you have the above specs i'm pretty sure you'd get £7k for it, but it might take up to 6 months to sell it... the low prices on current zeds and the lack any current alternatives from certain perspectives might just give the nice cars, such as yours a nice price bump (up!) - but dont sell it - you will just end up buying another one again - coz zeds are just great!
  15. I love boost in a big way - turbo cars' thrust just does it for me, not matter how powerful the car is - i love me my turbos. was in a latest edition 535 diesel recently (twin turbo diesel!) can't remember the exact specs but its something like 280bhp but 450lbft of torque and even though 0-60 0-100 aren't anything in particular i loved the way the engine felt. it's got balls. as you like turbos too, Si why are considering the nsx/348? you been in a 996 turbo? I tell you that thing SHIFTS - it's like it doesn't accelerate - it just brings you to the intended speed in an instant - and they can be picked up for £35k-£40k now... i know it's a lot, but a good 348 will cost you £30k and will cost lots more in servicing. don't know, but as a fellow forum member i really don't want you to get an nsx/348... tbh though best deals on the market at the mo are imo as follows 1. maserati 3200gt early ones with the boomerang lights - 15k-18k - there is one gorgeous blue/crema thats been repaired after cat d by a ferrari garage on autotrader at £11,000!!! that is just phenomenal value! have a look... 2. 996 non-s non-4 - in many ways the only reliable sports car - but i'm not a fan of porkers myself... but at 18k-22k you get a sporty car with no headache for the next five years that's cheapish to run... compared with many of the zeds on the forum, anyway :D 3. mercedes cl500-cl600-cl55 for 15k-22k - a lot of car for the money! cl500 is economical, too as has the 5ltr that's switches half the cylinders off in traffic if recall correctly. late TT cl600, if i'm not mistaken is something like 500bhp+600ftlb!!! and reliable 4. mercedes sl500 at £25k - come on people - i know it's heavy and auto - but that car is class! fast (enough), reliable, hardtop convertible!!! what more could anyone want? 5. tvrs - one and all - like owning a zed in the sense that they aren't expensive to buy, but expnsive to maintain... but after a proper a blast in a tiv - nothing and i mean nothing feels as fast... and the sound! prefer it to any sound i've ever heard coming from a car, including the naughty sounds... as per ferrari 348 - old and ugly, 355 nice with the targa, but good ones v expensive, 430 styling is way overdone and the car is too loud at idle - real attention grabber. personally i like the 360 the most and at £45k starting price - that's a lot of car/kitty wagon for the money, like the 550/575, too and prices are low, but servicing on those v12 can be v expensive... i guess i like 360/550/575 for the rear lights - classic round and classy - but still way too expensive for my liking - soon to be 30k-35k cars... give it maybe 12-18 months... speaking of rear lights lotus esprit v8! under 20k !!! (i know i like the s4s more, but v8 are later cars that i think might be more reliable) P.S. JUMVEA or BIMTA worth anything? come on guys - answer! i know someone knows P.P.S. i think i know what the next poll will be!
  16. put black bits on and get rid of the badge in the front - it will look cool - just like your sig does
  17. first *official* backup i have recieved on this board! thanks for that - received a few pms with people expressing support, but first balls on the table acknowledgement... maybe i'll continue posting my opinions in the future... in fact i might just create a vote on whether i should continue posting my honest thoughts or just shut up... ;) what forum should i stick that sort of thread in? :smw: p.s. yes - listen and benefit - i have no vested interest either way and am just honest... if you really try to listen - you will benefit. not coz i'm right, but coz more info from different sources let's you come to *YOUR OWN* conclusions... can you imagine that? *YOUR OWN* conclusions... not anyone elses - *YOUR OWN*!
  18. lucky for you, how about you give the fellow some advice as you clearly have some experience in picking what he's looking for... and how about some info on how i get mine repainted with my isurance company, come to think of it... :smw:
  19. which is 100% clear to anyone who has seen your sig - one of very few white cars that puts a smile on my face everytime i see it... :smw: wanna sell it? let's starting the bidding at two thousand pounds... ;) P.S. so does anyone have any opinions on JUMVEA or BIMTA validity or worth on the forum for this potential buyer?
  20. 100% agreed, but let's be serious now the most importnat words in that sentence are "ONCE IN A WHILE"... then you go on to talk about a particular car driven to work by a lady. Now let's use a bit of common sense here. What percentage of £2K 300ZZ TTs!!!! FFS!!! on the market today are daily drivers to work, huh? i can tell you right now less than 10% maybe even 10% only! hah! i can tell you right now that at that price level it's closer to 50%... and my opinion is based on *MY* first hand eperience... so i've had enough of your off-topic chatter boys... why don't you tell the lad looking for a £2k ZED if JUMVEA or BIMTA are worth anything or not? if you know, that is... ;)
