  1. I drive a 150 a day plus in my other job and thats in city traffic and ive had over 60k out of my main car which is just a 99 Vectra Diesel! 2000 mile's to me would be a clutch every 2 to 3 week's
  2. I think we all know Mate! there's no such thing as a 2000 mile clutch! I have replaced load's of clutches on car's that do high mileage street driving and i have never had a clutch go wrong under 20k due to a burn't out Clutch Plate. I doub't very much this was caused by your partner's driving even if she slipped the clutch now and then it would still exceed 2000mile's. I garage who fitted this is still 100% responsible and should rectify the problem without you paying anymore. If every garage was to treat people like this then they would have no customer's in the future. Do not sell the car!! what difference is changing the car going to make other than the cost of parts/labour? A 2000 mile clutch would be an expensive clutch no mater what car it is your driving. Don't let them fool you into thinking it was just wear and tear!! I would take the car back to them and say your not leaving until they have rectified the problem free of charge or you will seek legal advice!! Don't Give up mate!!
  3. Anyone use or previously used Jardine Faber for there Z32? I used these over 5 years ago and they were the cheapest around then for classics or future classics but what are they like now?

  5. Hi all my insurance is due for re-newal in a couple of week's and i got a reasonable quote back but i wondered if there were any of you on here that currently have your import insured on a classic policy with limited mileage. My import is now 16 years old now and i only use it mainly at weekend's so i am looking for a classic car insurer that would be willing to insure a 16year old Jap import? Any help or link's would be appriecciated. ;)

  16. Hi Dave, Always thought the Fuel cat was a bit of a gimmick...but saying that i'd imagine you may have done your research on these. Do you have any Technical info on Fuel Cat's for my disposal?
  17. Hi all I have a question!! Can you use LRP in a Zed that's been DeCatted?? We all know they have to run on Optimax or Super due to the higher protection or Octane Percentage Level but my past mechanical experiance tell's me you should also be able to use LRP if you are catless as it's intended for pre 90 cars (without Cats)and has a Higher octane rating (We all know leaded fuel had a very high octane percentage) But that's Almost unavailable!!! you can still get it at some classic car garage's... The only reason you could not use Leaded was because the lead will make the cat useless within minutes of use. The only thing that i think of that could prevent the use of LRP is the way the ECU is set up.?
  18. I've had two Zed's m.o.t tested and one Trans-am all with LSD and all tested on the rolling Brake tester!!
  19. Are you sure you have no Airlocks? Very common and easy to happen on these motor's I normally use the old Raising the Gravity method of filling the radiator up with coolant via a large funnel or coke bottle with just the bottom cut off, keeping the funnel over 3/4 full at all times until you think the system is full of coolant with the engine running. Cause's the coolant to be forced down under higher gravity and air gets forced out of the system easier...I worked in a few garages and most of us mechanic swear by this method of getting airlock's out of stubborn cooling system's... Lot's of helpfull advice here from other experianced people!!! It's just going to be a process of elimination here starting with the most simplest thing's first.... :)

Yes ive used these before...you also need a ring and pinion overhaul set which include's callapsable spacer/washer and bearing set and you will need some pattern grease and this is not an easy job like people think it is...
