Cool Treat her to a Zed meet a pint and a meal! :D
  4. Too true you can only fail a ball joint if it has excessive play in it or any! Also tyres near limits would fail all the time in that case as would be below limits in a few days or weeks! A certificate of Mot means that at the time and date of the MOT test the vehicle has met the minimum legal requirements in accordance with section 45 of the Road traffic act 1988 and due's not mean that it will continue to meet those requirements for a further twelve months.:p
  5. As Legrath has just pointed out above but take the plugs out when carrying out the compression test.
  6. You do not have to change the Ecu, many people have carried out conversions while leaving the auto ecu in! do a search!
  7. He could change the Intake cams while its out? ;)
  8. Have you checked the cam belt as well??? just make sure thats ok too! other than that do a compression check and check you have a spark at every cylinder and fuel is also reaching all the cylinders! Normally a compression check will give you the answers to whether you have low compression due to ring failier or headgasket/valve problems. You will also need to find out whether you have a Coolant leak somewhere as well. hth :)
  9. Yep! I'd like one of those!! :)
  10. I had the same setup as you on my Transam a couple of years ago and that passed!! Just sounds like you got a Picky mot tester :(
  11. I spoke to Chris at Getgreddy about this a few months ago and he was saying he knows someone thats doing the same project!! Great idea for weight saving!!

  17. Found a 3inch hole just above the passenger side AIV near the link arm under the Battery!! was not there last year and it passed its mot with no advises in February this year!!  Looks like i will have to get the MIG out soon! (Imported in 1998)
  18. Should be the same colour as the Power steering fluid Red.
  19. Do not remove the last bolt as there are some large springs in there and are a PITA to put back with the box still in place! The bolts always seem to sheer for some reason. if you cant fix it yourself take it to a gearbox specialist. You should have nothing stuck to the magnet and the oil should not have been black or light brown and the oil should have been changed at regular intervals. Best of luck!

There is a guy i know through the paint trade who has his own workshop called Select Autos in Hazel road, Woolston his name is Colin and he is quite reasonable he only has a small workshop but would only charge you around £50-90 to spray the bumper depending on which type of paint it is. His number is 023 80436386. What colour would you like the bumper and would it be pearl, metallic,or standard 2 pack?
