James, this may sound stupid, but are you running AOL 8?? Cus if you are, it sounds like one of the many 'sounds' available to indicate that someone on your 'Buddy List' has signed on/off, and they select there own sound, NOT YOU. So you wouldn't be aware if you didn't know. Please can anyone help me with the best route to take to Blackburn. I'll be travelling from Grantham in Lincolnshire and am OK as far as north of Sheffield on the M1. Yes I have looked at the map and I know where Blackburn is, but do i use the motorway, or do i go across country:confused: I think it might be faster using the motorways M62, M61 and M65, or would it be more effective to use simple A roads. Now I do realise that in using the motorways I'm going to be clocking up a lot more miles and using a lot more petrol, so i can see benifits both ways. So can anyone who is local to that area possible help me out here :) Thanks in advance Dave

Well, I've seen them before, but not on a Z, they were on my Rover 820si. They are standard kit on the 800, so would be readily available. Not sure if this is what you're after, but just thought I'd let you know. They are a nice touch, and clears the front of the bonnet area. DAVE

If it had been pay-up-front from day one, you probably wouldn't be here would you, and neither would a lot of others, that is the point of the option to subscribe isn't it. I can understand that a lot of you are bitter about having to pay now on a regular (yearly) basis, insteed of just the one off payment that you had previously paid, but you thought it was fair then didnt you, and you were quite happy when you didnt have to pay at all!! Just fogot to write this bit. I take it as a personal insult to call anybody a freeloader, without knowing the circumstanses of each individual. You wrote this without thinking of the persons that it may effect, this could be someones favorite model of car, and they may be on low income, but still like to contribute to the site in a different way, and can't justify to spend £20. The thing is you don't know, but you were ready to ban them. Just because you can afford your car, you automatically assume everyone should! Yes I can see where you are coming from, why should you be paying for the privaledge of thoses who cant be bothered?? You shouldn't have to be, and quite right so. But you are in danger of driveing ('cuse the punn, plz) possible new members away with all of this. It is a tricky subject, that requires a lot of thought, and its not for me to answer as I'm not subscribed. But the wrong dessision could be detrimental to the forum, in the long run. It's not easy there are a lot of opinions here and a few choices that could go in many different directions. When I say a lot of opinions here, I mean in general, not on this thread, as they probably wont want to post because of looking like FREELOADERS!!!!! Well i'll had my 2p worth here as well. As I'm one of the non-subscribed members on here with over 50 posts!! Yes I beleive that it is well worth the poltry £20 to join properly, and once my life/divorce/split is sorted out properly i'll do it or sooner if poss. The only problem with stopping people from posting after 50 posts,unless they have paid up, is that a lot of the jovial banter on threads/posts on here is supported by the non-subscribed members, so what will happen is your following will diminish! If they cant post, they'll go elsewhere and probably not come back. Now I know some, mainly the subcribed members, will argue and say i dont know what i'm talking about, and that i should just payup and stop FREELOADING, your opinion and you're entitled to it. Some people have been on here quite a long time and have not posted much, I've been here for only a couple of months and have posted quite a bit, and I wont stop posting when I subscribe, but it's the people who contribute to the site that makes new comers look at it and keep returning to it, and then hopefully subscribe to it as well. If you limit the amount that people can post then these new comers will think that there isnt much here for them. The limited number of subscribed members can not keep up the amount of interest that is required on the site for attracting new membership. Anyway, I'm sure this'll go down well, as all negative comments do, but again this is what is needed, two(or more) opinions on a subject. DAVE PS- Dont get me wrong, I'm not having a go at the subscribed members, it's just a point of view.
