  1. Not nessessarily, Targa is simply the T-Top (as in Targa Top), this could be either a NA or TT, although I'd probably beleive that it was a NA as it wasn't mentioned as TT in the description (if you see what I mean ;) ) No offence meant Greg
  2. Yeah, well done mate :duffer: nice one :D
  3. The series two PTU comes with an adaptor loom, that plugs between you old car loom and the new PTU. The down fall to this is that if you've got dodgy connectors in the first place then you will still have dodgy connectors!! This is what you get with a series two PTU What i've done is cut out the old connectors and soldered the new adaptor loom in, now using the nice new PTU connectors. A much neater job, and it cuts out one more potential fault point. HTH
  4. Personally I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot barge pole (Who carries a ten foot barge pole with them anyway? ;) To quote Peter Kay) You've got to do a really good profesional job, otherwise it'll look really crap, infact, tbh, I've never seen a really good job done yet!!!!
  5. If there is any decent weather tomorrow, I'll be doing this as the last job of my recent service. This lack of power when you slam your foot to the floor, and having the cat overheat light come on has been with me for some time now. So I've got six new coil pack plugs (just the plug, as the wire and pins are fine) and for good measure I've also got the injector connectors complete with new wire, as these are quite dodgy. The heat in the engine bay is quite intense, so after a few years they tend to 'dry out' (so-to-speak) so I'll end up replacing all the connectors under there eventually. Did you change your PTU for a series two, or just another series one? If it was a series two, you could relocate it to under the centre panel between the headlights (you could for a series one anyway) then you could also 'hard-wire' in the series two plugs, and do away with the old series one plugs. Quite a simple mod (I've got the wiring codes for it somewhere), and it tidies up the front of the engine. Anyway, hope that helps a bit.
  6. Not looking too bad at all mate..... Top job!!! Let us know how the Wings West one goes, if you go for it.
  7. Right, do you have a series one or two PTU (series one = alloy body with fins, surrounded with black plastic) if it's a series one it could be on it's way out. If it's a series two then you could have a duff connector on one of your coil packs, best way here is to run the engine and remove one coil pack at a time, see if the engine note changes, if it doesn't then that one is your problem (this method isnt fail-safe though, could be more than one) HTH
  8. HAPPY BIRTHDAY mate, I'm sure you'll be having a few :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: at some point, well enjoy 'em ya old git :D
  9. First this is NOT spam, I will not make any money out of this thread AT ALL!!!!!! I'm not selling anything, I'll leave that to the knobs on eBay ;) This has been on here before. So I had a look at it, and I cant, as of yet, see any fault with it. Basically, all you do is subscribe for $5 (about £2.69) and they give you an e-mail inbox on the site. You only ever receive e-mail to your own normal e-mail account from ezlaptop.com, to let you know that there is e-mail in the site inbox for you to read. You simply log-on to the site, and go to your inbox. Open any unread mails, read it if you want to, scroll down to the bottom link, click it, and a fresh window opens with a simple 'Thank you' message. Close this box (returning you to the original e-mail message). Click on the link back to your inbox, and you have one point! 210 points later, you can swap these in for a brand new, no strings attached, Sony Vaio K33 laptop (US model, but still a damm good laptop IMHO) (The laptop shown on the site has been superseeded, I asked them for some details and it was the specs for the K33) I cant see any cons, tricks or anything wrong with it. You pay via PayPal, so the website doesnt have any of your financial details. They are getting their advertising fees from the advertisers that send the e-mails into your on-site inbox. So they can afford to give out this laptop for FREE, including postage to the UK. I joined back in December and I'm currentley on 54 points, so a quarter of the way there. The link below is my personal referal link, once you sign-up you are given your own referal link. Everytime someone uses your referal link and signs-up, you are given one more point. As long as you don't spam you link, you can give it out as much as you wish. My referal link is -- http://www.ezlaptop.com/index.php?ref=20115 If you use it, thank you, if you don't then it's not a problem. At least i've passed on this information to anyone who is prepared to read this. Good luck!
  10. Cheers Leigh. I wasn't going to go for another red car again, but I really licked this colour as it's got the pearl in it and is a lot rarer than most colours. I also beleive that it is the only Cherry Red Pearl with a 99 spec front end, certainley in this club, and possibly in the country :D  I would like to be proved wrong, and then have a few pics of this and any others together, that would look very nice :D
  11. Still not taken her for a proper blast yet, but also STILL havent done the injector and coil pack connectors yet................ That's this weekends work :D Then she'll be ready for a blast down to Santa Pod on the 20th
  12. WTG mate, would be nice to see it at the Pod, if you can get it there. Is this Bodywork & engine upgrades, or are we just talking bodywork and BLING!!! ;)
  13. Just picked her up this morning, so she needs a good wash and polish, but took some pics anyway :D I'm happy with the end result, just needs a new front panel badge now..... in RED :D
  14. I am, it's called EGG ;) The thing is NOW I'm skint!!!  As the weather is looking good for this weekend, I should get the last couple of bits done on the engine, and I'll be at the Pod on the 20th :D If I'm really lucky, I might even have the new clear rear lights and illuminated centre panel done :D
  15. So do i, as I havent seen it yet, but he says that it's all blended in nicely. Apparentley, he's had to do halfway down both wings aswell. But as the first attempt wasn't his fault it's costing me a foutune!! Arr well, you live 'n learn :D
  16. Oh YES!!!!!!!!! I'm picking her up in the morning. This is the second time I've had the new front bumper sprayed, but this time it also went in to have the rear bumper and the front centre panel done. I've also found out why the paint was darker on the new front bumper, and when I had the rear end smoothed last year the paint was a perfect match. The front end is a different colour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some tw@ in the past has had the front end resprayed in a different shade (lighter) to the proper AH3............. What a :xxx: :slap: But anyway, i'll be picking her up (following a rather intensive blending exercise at the bodyshop this week) in the morning, and if the weather is nice I'll take some pics and post them :D
  17. Mark, as I'm back at home tonight, here are a couple of pics of the Air-Con Amp unit. HTH
  18. I've just had the same thing as this from AOL this week!! So it looks like all the big ISP's are doing the same thing!! :D
  19. Right, after a lot of research (because, there are no pictures, diagramms or postions listed in any manuals), it is located behind the drivers left hand center consol footwell panel. It is a black box about 15 cm x 10 cm x 4 cm, mounted on a metal bracket. And apparentley it's difficult to get out. Have a word with Pete Shrimp for any more details, as he took the one out that I have now. HTH
  20. They look very nice mate  And a nice tidy desk ;) I wish mine was as tidy as that!!
  21. Well done mate, and I'm sure you'll do a great job  Does that mean you'll be talking to yourself aswell?? You can get locked up for that you know ;)
  22. Well if the old one was doing the same as the new one, then I'd sugest that, maybe, your Air-Con Amp module is defective. But you'll have to try another member for that, as I've got the one from Pete :D And I must get around to fitting it, as it's really bugging me now not knowing what the temp is :D
  23. E110, E 134, E235, E278, E689 and Carrotein for colour Stuffed full of addatives, chuck it in the bin and find somthing more healthy :D
  24. First of all guys, please check that it is available in Right Hand Drive, as it will make a difference!! I was also about to type that I know his website addy, but I see that he has put it on the ebay auction, so you should still be able to obtain one direct. It looks a pretty good kit, as long as the photo's used are of the genuine kit and not of someone elses proffesional leather interior!!! ;) I'm not saying that I don't trust the guy, as I have no reason not to at all, but you have to be carefull. His feedback seem very good, so I can only assume he makes a good quality kit. I wish I'd had a kit when I did mine, it might not look quite so crap!! :D HTH
  25. When you say 'Wont read properly', what exactly does it say? Or are you saying that there is no readout at all? Try this LINK for the diagnostic on non-illumination of the Set & Ambiant Temperature Display, it might be your solution. HTH
