  1. I was thinking of trying to start a new trend..... Instead of clear lights, how about White lights :D Hmmmm, might need brighter bulbs though ;) Mark, thanks mate, but I'm getting a light unit from Leigh, and a centre panel from jonnyz32, but thanks anyway. It's always nice to know, that when you fook somthing up, there's always someone who can help you out on here  What a fantastic place this is!!!
  2. Ok a few pics of today disasterious proceedings ;) Centre panel in the oven Cracked centre panel ( you can see it just over the '3') The left hand rear light unit separated, along with it's 'new' silvered insert. And finally the slightly damaged right hand side light unit (grease-proof paper is what you can see coming out from behind it, there to stop the gunk from getting on the oven)
  3. Thanks Leigh, PM on it's way back to you. Mmmmmmmmm Candy Apple Red, very nice :D
  4. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr, that Mazda conversion.......... Don't think my EGG card will stretch that far ;) But I do like it :D
  5.  I did actually Laugh Out Load (LOL) when I read that. Needed a good laugh, as I'm a little p155ed off at the mo :( It was in the oven door, about to be separated, and not beating about the bush, I left it too long!! :slap: As it happends, it is the right hand side one.... You're a life saver, how much you want for it? cj... Whats a mazda conversion? Legrath...... lol................ It's electric, that's what confused me ;) Thanks guys.
  6. I've just melted a rear light unit   Sh1te :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal
  7. Cheers Rich. :D I looked at Thoresby Hall for a nights stay!!!   £245 per person!!!!!!! For the three nights (Fri - Sun inc)   Fook that :D I paid not much more than that for a week in Egypt ffs Then I looked at B&B's in the area, and one wanted £160 just for one night!!!!! It's only Sherwood Forest ffs  anyone would think I was wanting to saty in London ;) So I'll just travel instead.
  8. As I see a few of you will be going to Belgium for this weekend, will there still be a contingent, representative of 300zx.co.uk, going to JAPS at Thoresby Hall, Ollerton this year? I'll definately be going on the Sunday, but am also considering a stop over, then I'll be there on the Saturday aswell.
  9. Don't worry, everyone has to ask somthing like this sooner or later :D First that picture in the link that Chunk put up, is for a Series 1 Jap import, with Auto box, Air-Con and Cruise Control. As the Air-Con pod was altered from series 2, and a few other minor bits aswell. As for the Power/Hold switch....... as stated the Power button holds the box in the gears longer before changing up(as mentioned Above). The Hold button is basically for bad weather driving (snow/ice) once you are into second gear it won't allow it to drop back into first, hence giving you better torque for slippery conditions. He probably did, as that is HIS silver Zed ;)
  10. Well smart, thats exactually the look I want :D Cheers :duffer:
  11. I'm talking about daylight, I can't see a problem with useing dipped beam, as it isn't for the benifit of seeing where you're going, it's there for the benifit of those approaching you to see where you are. If you travell about with full beam on then I can see a point reflection back to you, but dipped beam does not caurse this problem due to the angles involved.
  12. Thanks chaps............... Well thats convinced me then :duffer: Just one more question, these come with powder coated strut tops, can they be painted straight onto the powder coating, or would I have to sand the powder coating off first (as I want them body colour)
  13. It never ceases to amaze me as to how stupid some people can be!! You've probably guessed as to what I'm refering........... Only having side-lights on in foggy conditions, or worse still not having ANY lights on in fog!!! What do these morons think they are achiving? Saving a few extra BHP so that they can go faster? NO, what they are achiving is making it a dangerous situation for oncoming traffic (and themselves) Come to think of it, why does anyone drive with only side-lights on anyway? I mean, whats the point. Especially as most side-lights are totally useless in the first place. And how much effort does it take to turn, or flick, the switch that one extra click to put them on dipped beam? They are not there for THEIR benifit, they are there for others, so that they have a warning that there is oncoming traffic (yes I realise that oncoming traffic should be driving to the conditions anyway, but that doesn't mean that they always do!) Sorry for ranting, it just p155es me off that these morons actually have driving licenses, as they don't have the brains to think with! Rant over :D
  14. No mate :D Never have THAT problem ;)
  15. I've been looking at your Engine By Numbers, and have noticed that your strut bar is identicle to the one I'm thinking of buying. Is yours any good? And did you get it from the US/eBay? TIA
  16. Got home from work at about 1:30 this afternoon, and decided it's time to get on with some jobs on the Zed. So out with the boot interior panels, and off with the rear centre panel... Ready for the EL panel mod...... Then it's off with the rear lights (who needs a heat gun?? Just pulled then off, gently)....... Ready for the clear lenses to be installed (all four, no Yellow or Red!). I've temporarilly placed a spare set in the holes to stop any rain from getting in, until the new ones are finished. Then to the inside, and stripping out the centre consol, to get at the Air-Con amp module. Now that is difficult to get at! Once that was replaced (and it works :hyper: ) I set about taking my hard-wired hands-free kit out, and part-installed my new Bluetooth hands-free in it's place. So that's about it for this afternoons activities :D I'll keep you up-to-date with the EL panel and clear lenses as i go. I want the new lights and panel in by April 17th, so that it's ready for the Midlands meet in Peter'boro.
  17. Pete....................... Thanks to you, I can now see what temperature my air-con is working at  Just got around to fitting the amp modual this afternoon................. and what a pain in the arse that was :D It's not easy getting your hand up there is it? But at least it worked OK when I put the ignition on :hyper: Just got to learn how to use it properly now :D Cheers mate. PS- Thanks for the niceley packaged central door locking motor, but when i fitted that, it still didn't work, so it looks like I've got another problem there now :headvswal
  18. It sure is.... it burnt down a few years back, but totally refurbed after that. Prob is though it does get busy.
  19. Yeah, I'm pretty sure thats the one anyway, and yes it's certainley got a fair size carpark, could be a good meet location :D
  20. Looking nice :D But could do with hard pipe kit
  21. If I ever get the time to do it, I've got all the bits to do one of these :D Just never have enough time to do anything much these days
  22. Is that the one on the A52, on the bend, just west of Bottesford, between Elton and Whatton? In the centre of this map, marked as a Hotel?
  23. Stuff that!!! I'll just undertake them ;) :x:
  24. Is there available, or would it be possible/viable/costeffective to produce, a fully wrap-around wing and bumper protector for when you are working on your Zed's engine bay? I've seen them in the past for one wing, but was wondering if anyone made a full one piece unit? One that would be a soft padded material on the inside, with a durable outter material.
  25. Don't forget to dissconect your battery for about 1/2 hour, to reset the ECU.
