  1. Was available in Swizerland part of regular model range at Nissan dealers. At least one main dealers (mine) had a performance kit to take it to 34obhp. Mine was supplied new in Switzerland – there are a few around. Never seen a Skyline though, as they weren't. I've seen cloth and leather, manual and auto, but all 2+2 Turbos
  2. By the way, an English quart is exactly two English pints. Don't know if the Yanks even have pints – what do they use as measures for their beer – surely not litres? Quarter quarts and half quarts??? I'll get me coat....
  3. I'm afraid me and my ZX are out in Switzerland, so not much chance of me splitting a can with someone.
  4. I had a look too for a supplier and found this: http://www.mtmotorsport.co.uk/shop/index.html?target=p_48.html&lang=en-gb 4 quarts =£ 42.79 +Shipping by courier £8.50 + Tax £8.98 Total £ 60.27 But according to the other threads, 3 quarts should be enough... Anyone actually done this recently who could tell us?
  5. Thanks for all the help guys! What a helpful bunch on this forum :)
  6. Ahh... I've had a browse and found that the club treasurer is in the middle of moving house and payment by cheque is not advised at the moment. I'll keep an eye on that. Thanks again for the advice all.
  7. :p If it works... :p Is Paypal the only option? I don't like internet transactions... where can I mail a cheque? Anyone know offhand if the gear box holds three US quarts/litres or two? Thanks :)
  8. That sounds like a worthwhile invesrtment. A quick search shows me that it is supplied in US quarts (0.946 litre) for £ 12.57 inc for online ordering from MTMOTORSPORT. Can anyone tell me, do I need two quarts or three for the manual box?
  9. In that case, I think I'll learn to live with it – at least for the time being – as for me the costs outweigh the disadvantages of living with this problem. Thanks for your advice guys. :)
  10. :xxx: :xxx: :xxx:  Are there no girls on this forum who will now tear you limb from limb? :p If it is the synchro, how many hours will a Nissan dealer reckon for doing the job and is there anything else that should be done while they are at it? Or has anyone else got any ideas?
  11. Thanks - looked at the link, but that is about changing down from 5th to 4th and I don't have any problems there. That's what I don't understand – why only on the upchange to 5th? Otherwise everything is fine. Confused.... :(
  12. Very interesting – is it synchro then or something more obscure if yours only does it now and then? Would be grateful for the link. Cheers.
  13. Probably mainly motorway. Doesn't seem noisey to me. Is that possible that downchange is no problem if it's the synchromesh? I'm hoping it's nothing that serious...
  14. Thanks. I don't think double de-clutching will help because, in the time that takes to do I can change up without crunching anyway. With almost all cars you hardly need to depress the clutch to change up and the ZX is quite happy with my normal change-up in all other gears. Have already checked that pedal can be fully pressed down – still crunches if I'm too quick. And it's not that I'm changing up madly quick – unless I wait about 3 three seconds (!!!) before engaging top, it complains.
  15. Hello all, I've done a search on here, but no-one seems to have reported the same symptoms that I'm experiencing, so I wonder if this is unusual: I have a 1993 manual TT 2+2 and when I change gear all is fine except except when I put it into top. It crunches unless I do it very slowly :( I'm no engineer – but changing down is not a problem, so I thought this can't be a synchro problem – can it? The car was tuned from new by a Nissan main agent to 340bhp for a lady owner. I bought it from them when she traded it in at around 80,000 miles and the car has now done about 90,000. Have had the problem for a while now – doesn't seem to get worse, but it's really getting to me. Anyone got any advice please?
