i think macca is well over 20k on his engine and that doesnt include all he spent on his wide arse bodywork etc but i bet he's over 30k in all, ive spent close to 10k on mine and ive just spent another 4k this week, the rumour is andy eleftherion has spent over 80k on his!!! so £800 keep going mate just a drop in the ocean ;) Kirbz

you dont need to change your ecu just the chip chris @ getgreddy does an exchange ecu so you dont even need to un solder yours give him a shout Kirbz

You will need to upgrade your intercoolers if you gonna run more boost etc on the new tubs. Its only money, just keep telling yourself this :) Kirbz

No one every said this tuning lark was easy and we all have different views on what to use and what not to use. I would like to know the reason why a couple of UK tuners dont like the idea of metal head gaskets and their experience's with them, and if all else fails i still have some new oem ones :p I suppose i will find out when i up the boost ofter run-in. I still cant believe that people would manufacture these items if they dont work cos surly if its proven that they dont work then the manufacturer is open to be sued?? Mike

Well its funny cos i called most of the people who manufacture metal head gaskets, the likes of trust (one of the most reputable tuners in the world) HKS (oohh another of the most reputable tuners in the world) and they all say the same There is no problem with a metal headgasket on a zed but you have to be careful of a few things 1 its fitted correctly 2 ideally you need you heads studded 3 most importantly you need to re torque the heads regularly - which i know is a pain but to run higher boost and power its worth it. How many very high HP turbo cars dont run with a metal HG???? But if mine fails then i will be the first person to post up and everyone can say i told you so :D It would be interesting to know how many metal head gaskets SE or others have actually fitted to zeds in the UK cos i only know of one which was adamr's car and his didnt fail cos of the HG the spark plug broke causing damage to the HG Rant over :nelson: Mike

and if it doesnt go bang you may be close..;) or get it transported over to the US and you will have 550-600 straight away :) Seriously though its not that easy you can get some big ass tubs and slap them on increase the fueling etc but theres alot more you need..cooling, intercoolers, brakes etc etc like alex said min of 15k and its still not guaranteed but fun trying hey macca ;) Mike

I had a few problems fitting mine as i have a very large oil cooler and front mount so i got the grinder out and took the fixing brackets off held them in place so they point towards each other and welded them back up worked a treat....cheers dad :) Kirbz

Cant wait for mine to be run in cos theres a lambo murcy....whatever its called in yellow round the corner from me and he loves giving it some, does sound nice that v12 but hes only just got it back after going from 6th to 4th on the motorway slip road at 140ish and missed 4th and put it into 2nd :nono: and bent all the valves causing 60k worth of damage...but lamo fixed it under warranty :shock: but cant wait to see his face when he floors it and cant get away from a datson in his 150 grand supercar :D Kirbz

But your original oil cooler is still there under it and connected up???

Can we even put Andy E the 600zx in there cos for one where is it and is it proven?? the last i heard it had several engine rebuilds and kept blowing up so unless someone says otherwise looks like vinz has the most powerful...at the moment!! Mike

Come one macca i think you need to take the nos into consideration so is 530 bhp the biggest "proven" dyno to date??

You can actually see your oil cooler anyway on the right hand side, maybe a transmision or powersteering cooler as i cant see the little powersteering cooler thingy Kirbz
