  3. ahhhh never had an auto so looked wrong ;)
  4. ??? i dont know either bud looks like its been welded onto brackets and stuck on top of the oil cooler?? It looks to me that the maf bracket is extending the filter too low
  5. I want to know what that is between the 2 and 3??
  6. Mine has them all??? also why is there a dip stick there?? looks like one??
  7. is it a 300zx specific filter or have you bought a filter and a maf adapter??
  8. Sorry bud i was only on for a minute so a quick answer was it ;) A few others have said on here but basically yes they are T28 based and are roller bearing so very quick spool up but have ceramic blades which are prone to going bye bye's and you can run 1.15 bar of boost on them so yes they will out perform a zed turbo but your looking at about 400rwhp with r34 turbos and when you consider that there a different fitment so fabrication to the manifold/turbo is needed, you would need 5 bolt dowpipes etc etc So its just not worth it when you can buy some zed specific turbos which will do the same job without all the hastle of the R34 turbos HTH
  9. no not worth the hastle mate ;)
  10. i suppose its a difficult one as this is my 2nd zed ive modded. the first one i threw a fortune at it and did every thing apart from the turbos, paid for them but they never turned up but thats another story lol prob spent £10k on my old zed this one i bought ready tuned but it had a few bits that let it down, mainly the lack of pipework on the turbos which actually restricted the air flow so it meant we had to pull the engine so while we were doing that i decided to go the whole hog and get it to its full potencial :) spent so far on this project??? got to be pushing another £10k :wack: :slap:  Mike
  11. once it warms up it does go to just over 3 bar but being as the previous map was not that good anyway it runs very well will have a play with the fpr to see if it need lowering a little.
  12. i cant mate  even now its running a bit rich due to the much bigger injectors but doesnt run too bad and when i gave it a quick blip on the throttle over 3000 revs it just boosts mate was at 1.3 bar in a flash  my AEM will be here in the next 2 weeks so going to book my car in the week after ;) Mike
  13. Took a few pics today, did all the silly little jobs on it :) 99 spec lights and boot with battery EDFC Twin PE induction setup and trust oil cooler Needs more bling and cleaning but getting there Modified Front bumper Mike
  14. In the words of monty python "STONE HER"
  15. Well finally got it all back together. Started her up and she ran really bad so checked the fuel pressure and the adjustable FPR was set to full so checked the gauge and it was off the scales  ;) so turned it down to a nice 3.5 bar on idle and ran alot better. So took her for a quick spin to see if the whole project actually worked!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO quick blip up the road and straight to 1.3 bar :wack: obviously backed off straight away as its not mapped but i can now BOOST  Roll on AEM and mapping Cheers for all your help Mike
  16. trust me its a piggy back, its about the best piggy back you can get but it plugs in between the loom and the oem ecu which in my eyes makes it a piggyback ;)
  17. Its funny cos i am buying a full stand alone ECU for mine but the main ecu used on highly modded jap cars is still the HKS F-Con Pro which is a piggy back As john says the OEM ecu is cracking because it controls everything the zed does perfectly and can still work well even if modded as long as you get a decent mapped chip but its all down to mapping!! doesnt matter if you have a £2k ecu or a £100 chip, if the map is not good it can still go BANG
  18. poss cars waiting to be picked up or trailered away?? oh by the way the crane and engine stand is ready when you are?
  19. i think they were winding it down but that was several weeks ago?? was it open ot was the shutters closed?
  20. Just a quick update Engine is in all the pipework is on and fits :) Just got to connect up all the plenum up and put the inside back together and few other odd jobs but fingers crossed should be all up and running tomorrow  Now just need to wait for my AEM  Took a few pics of the catch tank install as its all piped up now(sorry about the crappy phone pics) Mike
