  1. Hi mate and welcome to the club! I have a jap import with all the same buttons lol!! the hold button basically pulls off in 2nd gear, ideal for winter! IIRC "Power" changes the gear ratio so it changes gear at a higher RPM. Hope this helps, still learning too! Oh, and by the way, if you havent already, geat an auto box cooler otherwise you will cook the box!
  2. Is there anyone in Nottingham who can help me change my cambelt? Needs doing and as I have just spent shed loads of cash on a new auto box, I dont physically have the cash to do at the mo through a garage! Thanks!
  3. Is there anyone in Nottingham or nearby that can help me fit a cambelt in the near future? Cheers!
  4. ECU reset didnt repair, still revs go higher and no speed and the various other roblems!! I beleive it is 2nd gear it wont locate, as there is only 1 gear change that is noticeable, and th revs are too low to be 2nd. I can get it into 3rd manually though, but setting off in Drive and then tapping the accelerator at 4K RPM, then it drops straight in!? Weird!!! Just peed off, want a driveable car, but at the moment, its not really. Any more thoughts appreciated!
  5. So do I, only had it put in today!!!
  6. Just disonnected the battery to reset ECU. how long should i leave it? I have read that this has been known to sometimes fix auto shifting problems? Am hoping that the problem is the new gearbx ecu not talking to my engine ecu properly, then they can re-learn together!
  7. Problem is, cant afford not to have a car on the road!
  8. I mean A box, had it done by a guy off here (since the problem occured he has been spot on trying to help me and will fit a new box if it carries on) this afternoon.
  9. Also, when driving, if i take my foot off the accelerator, the revs drop to idle speed?
  10. Had a new auto box in the Zed today, now I know the ECU has to re-learn but are these symptoms normal!? 1. Gear makes first change at 7,000 RPM (if at all, sometimes it doesnt change) 2. Can only change the gear manual by driving to 3000 RPM and pressing "Hold", this changes the gear (sometimes, other times the revs go up but no speed) 3. Occasionally when driving revs just go higher, no more speed. 4. Performance seems crap. 5. Not sure if 2nd gear is there!? When driving in "1" then going to "2", the revs stay where they are they dont go lower or higher. Any thoughts?
  11. You gonna give me a ring then Boldy!?
  12. Just "scoured" the net, and read on this site http://www.troublecodes.net/tbelt/nissantb.shtml that it only needs doing every 105,000 miles?? Is this complete drivel or does the site speak truth!!!
  13. Car is from Japan, imported in 2003, is there a way to tell if the cam belt has been done or not? I know it will need the 60K mile service soon anyway, and they do it then, but why waste the money if its already been done (will have rest of service anyway). Mickey at ZworX is working on it on Friday, replacing the auto box, will he be able to tell? Cheers Folks! Jon
  14. I can live with that, after all it would be a fair few K pay rise!!
  15. I estimated £10 a day!!
  16. Possibly going to be working further afield than I thought! Currently work 3 miles away from home but may be driving 20 miles each way a day, purely motorway miles. How much do you reckon it will cost per day on an N/A?
  17. I am having my autobox replaced next week and only have 1st and 2nd gear. I am driving the car "gingerley" but the urge to put my foot down occasionally gets the better of me!! When I do really go for it and eventually stop, there is a smell and some smoke coming from the back of the engine?? Any thoughts? I also need to replace the gearbox oil seal too and it has been suggested that it could be this oil being burnt on my exhaust? Thoughts please! :-)
  18. Definately right, had a prob with Orange last night. 07970247207!
  19. Thanks for the welcome everyone! Where are you all located? BOLDY - nice one mate, give me a bell, could do with picking your brains!
  20. Casey, he's my brother in law! lol!! Where is the meet, I will make it! Give me a bell on 07970247207!
  21. Hello mate! That was me, only got the Zed last Wednesday!!
  22. Do I need to use in my Zed? Also, where do I fill up (a) the engine oil (think I know this one, lol) and (b) the auto gearbox oil?
  23. Just read this "Pali, probably your rear main-seal is shot. They tend to go after the car has been overfilled with oil or if the PCV-valves are stuck. (Both cause overpressure in the carter) and the engine leaks oil out of the area between the gearbox and engine..which then leaks onto the cats, causing the smoke. If it started doing this recently and the oil was also changed recently, you might still have a chance. Just let some oil out of the engine to around 3/4 on the dipstick. Just to be sure, you can also replace the 2 PCV-valves. Anyway, if both methods don't solve the problem, the gearbox has to be dropped to replace the seal. If you have an automatic it's not really that bad to drive with a blown seal..it's just annoying and the smoking will get worse in time If you have a manual, it can destroy your clutch though..so in this case have it replaced pronto. -Eric PS Tim: that's probably your problem as well, have SE check the rear main seal." In case its worth mentioning, apparently my oil seal needs replacing which I am having done by Chunks mate when he drops a new gearbox in in a few weeks. Does this sound like the problem??
  24. Any ideas what this could be? Bearing in mind my autobox is fooked and until it is fixed in 3 weeks am driving in 2nd constantly!
